The IBPS PO 2026 prelim exam is going to be held on the 22nd and 23rd of August 2026 in a total of 6 shifts. IBPS PO Prelims Exam Analysis 2026

With over 11 lakh applicants competing for 7,565 probationary officer/management trainee vacancies, the exam is being conducted across two days (22 and 23 August) in a total of 6 shifts, which means competition is going to be high. Based on the exam sequence followed in recent IBPS PO prelims cycles, Shift 1 papers typically run Reasoning Ability → English Language → Quantitative Aptitude, and the difficulty has generally been in the Easy-to-Moderate range in earlier exams, though this can vary from shift to shift.

The exam consists of 100 questions from 3 sections, and this year, the sectional marks have been reshuffled even though the question count per section is unchanged. Candidates are given 60 minutes (20 minutes per section) to complete the exam.
