For the year 2026, the Indian Institute of Technology Guwahati (IIT Guwahati) is responsible for conducting the GATE 2026 Exam and releasing the admit card. GATE 2026 Admit Card has been released today, 13th January 2026, online at the official website https://gate2026.iitg.ac.in/. All candidates must carry their admit cards on the exam day; failing to do so, the candidates will not be allowed to sit in the examination.
GATE Exam, whose full form is Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering, is a national-level prestigious entrance exam conducted every year for admission to M.Tech, ME, MS, and PhD programs in IITs, NITs, IIITs, and other reputed institutions, or to make a career in leading Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs). GATE 2026 exam for a total of 30 subjects is scheduled for 7th, 8th, 14th, and 15th February 2026.
GATE 2026 Admit Card
GATE Exam includes a total of 65 questions for a total of 100 marks, Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ), Multiple Select Questions (MSQ), and Numerical Answer Type (NAT) Questions. Registered candidates who are going to appear for the exam must download and print their admit cards to carry to the examination venue on the date of the examination. GATE 2026 Exam Schedule
GATE 2026 Exam is scheduled for 7th, 8th, 14th, and 15th February 2026 for a total of 30 subjects. The exam will be held in two shifts each day, from 9:30 am to 12:30 pm and 2:30 pm to 5:30 pm.

How to Download the GATE 2026 Admit Card?
Candidates appearing for the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) make sure to download their admit card in advance to avoid last-minute technical glitches. The step-by-step process to download the GATE 2026 Admit Card is as follows:
Step 1 – Visit the Official Website

Step 2 – Click on the Admit Card Link
On the home page, click on “Login” under the GATE Admit Card section.
Step 3 – Enter Your Login Details
Candidates are redirected to a new login page. In the login section, provide your login details, Enrollment ID/Email address & password. Once done, click the “Login” button to access your admit card.
Step 4 – View the Admit Card on the Screen
The GATE 2026 Admit Card appears on the system screen as a PDF document. Make sure to review the details displayed carefully.
Step 5 – Verify All Details on the Admit Card
Ensure that all the information mentioned on the admit card is correct. This includes your name, exam details, and other important information.
Step 6 – Download and Print Admit Card
Click the “Download” button on the PDF to save a copy of the admit card to your device. Open the downloaded PDF file and take a printout of the admit card to carry to the examination center.
