Garima Lohia Early Life and Education

Garima Lohia was born and raised in a business family and is a native of Buxar, Bihar. In an unfortunate incident, Garima’s father died 8 years ago. Her interests include listening to self-improvement podcasts. Garima completed her secondary education at Woodstock School. She enrolled in the Sunbeam School in Varanasi to complete her higher secondary education. After completing her higher secondary education, Garima studied in Kirori Mal College in Delhi. From this college, she achieved the degree in accounting. Later, she started preparing for UPSC examination.

Garima emphasized the value of self-help groups in her mock interview when asked how she would promote women’s empowerment in Bihar. Talking to the media, she said, “I decided to prepare for civil services in 2020 during Covid-19 lockdown. After returning home, I started self-study and also took help from online study platforms. On my first attempt, I could not clear the prelims examination. I again worked hard and cleared the exam in the second attempt. I was expecting to clear the exam but I did not imagine second rank”.
