The Bihar Police Subordinate Services Commission (BPSSC) is going to conduct the Bihar Police Sub-Inspector (SI) Mains Examination 2026 for all those candidates who have been declared qualified in the prelims exam for 1,799 Sub-Inspector vacancies in the Home (Police) Department, Government of Bihar. As per the notice released by the Bihar Police Subordinate Services Commission, the Bihar Police Sub-Inspector (SI) Mains Examination 2026 for a total of 4,48,899 prelims qualified candidates will be conducted on a single day, i.e., 27th May 2026 (Wednesday). The exam will be conducted in two shifts, i.e., Shift 1 (10:00 am to 12:00 pm) and Shift 2 (2:30 pm to 4:30 pm). The main exam will consist of a total of 200 objective-type multiple-choice questions for a total of 4000 marks.

Bihar Police SI Selection Process 2026

The Bihar Police SI selection process includes multiple stages, starting with written exams and ending with physical and medical evaluations.

1. Preliminary Exam: Objective-type test with 100 questions on General Knowledge and Current Affairs, totalling 200 marks in 2 hours; qualifying in nature.
2. Mains Exam: Two papers—Paper I (General Hindi, 200 marks, qualifying at 30%) and Paper II (General Studies, Reasoning, Math, Science, totalling 200 marks), every 2 hours.
3. Physical Efficiency Test (PET): Running (1 km in 5-6 minutes based on category), high jump, long jump, shot put; gender and category-specific standards apply.
4. Physical Standard Test (PST): Height (165-170 cm for males, 155 cm for females), chest (79-84 cm for males), and weight checks.
5. Document Verification: Original certificates for age, education, category, ID proof; discrepancies lead to disqualification.
6. Medical Examination: Vision, hearing, and overall fitness assessment for final eligibility.

Bihar Police Daroga Mains Exam Pattern 2026

The main exam consists of objective-type multiple-choice questions. The structure for the Bihar Police Daroga Mains Exam will be as follows.

• Paper 1 is qualifying in nature; candidates are required to score 30% marks.
• Each question carries 02 marks.
• There will be a negative marking, and 0.2 marks will be deducted for each wrong answer.
• The time duration for each paper is 2 hours.
