Punjab ETT Exam Pattern 2026

To appear in the Punjab ETT Examination, the first step is to understand the exam pattern and types of questions asked in the exam. The written examination is divided into two papers. Candidates must qualify for Paper A to become eligible for Paper B.

• Written exam will be divided into two papers (Paper A & Paper B).
• Paper A will be qualifying in nature, and a merit list will be prepared based on Paper B.
• Each Paper will consist of 100 Questions for 100 marks.
• Paper A consists of questions only from Punjabi Language & Paper B will consist of the questions from Punjabi, Hindi, English, GK, and Math.
• The duration of the exam is 100 minutes for each paper.

1. Language and Uptasha: Definition and types of language, Punjabi language, classical Punjabi, sub-languages of Punjabi
2. Script and Gurmukhi script: Definition of script and Gurmukhi script,
3. Phonemic awareness: vowel sounds, consonant sounds
4. Word Knowledge: Noun, Pronoun, Adjective, Verb, Adverb, Conjunctive, Definition of word, types and basis of classification, word structure and word formation (root word or metal, prefix, suffix).
5. Vocabulary: purpose and function, syntactic phrase and sub-sentence in Punjabi, classification of sentences (based on structure and function). Cognition: polysemous words, synonyms, antonyms, one word instead of many words
6. Grammar: Gender, Tense, Causal, Punctuation, Idioms, Adverbs and Punjabi Spelling.
