SSC JHT 2026 Eligibility Criteria
The aspiring candidates have to fulfil the required eligibility criteria in terms of educational qualification and age limit for the posts of Junior Hindi Translator, Junior Translator, and Senior Hindi Translator.
Nationality/Citizenship
A candidate must be either:
(i) a citizen of India, or
(ii) a subject of Nepal, or
(iii) a subject of Bhutan, or
(iv) a person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Myanmar, Sri Lanka, East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania (Formerly Tanganyika and Zanzibar), Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia, and Vietnam to permanently settle in India.
Educational Qualifications
The minimum Educational Qualification for the SSC JHT 2026 Exam is a Master’s degree in relevant subjects. Check the post-wise required Eligibility in terms of educational qualification from the table below.

Age Limit
The age limit of the eligible candidates must be 18 to 30 years. For the post of Sub-Inspector (Hindi Translator) in CRPF, candidates’ age must be between 18 to 30 years. Steps to Apply for SSC JHT 2026
The candidates willing to apply for SSC JHT 2026 Exam must submit their duly filled application forms at www.ssc.gov.in. Follow the below steps to know the complete registration process.
- Visit the SSC official website i.e. ‘www.ssc.gov.in’.
- SSC Homepage appears on the screen, then click on the ‘Apply’ option.
- Search for the link- ‘Junior Translator Examination’. Click on the link.
- You get a ‘Login to Apply for the Examination’ prompt. Click on ‘OK’.
- You are redirected back to the SSC homepage, where you find the Login section. If you are a new user or haven’t registered your account, then click on ‘Register Now’ and enter all your details on the next page to generate your registration number and password, else login with your pre-registered details.
- Now, fill out the Application/Registration form very carefully. All the details filled in should be correct.
- Then, attach the required scanned documents and finally review the detailed filled-in application form.
- After reviewing the Application form, pay the required application fee fees using the online payment gateway. Finally, download the application form and take out a printout for future reference.
