The Union Public Service Commission has successfully conducted the UPSC CAPF AC Exam 2026 on 19th July 2026 in 2 shifts for the recruitment of 349 Assistant Commandants in BSF, CRPF, CISF, ITBP, and SSB. UPSC CAPF AC Question Paper 2026 Out
After reviewing the paper, the faculty analysed that the exam was of “Moderate to Difficult level” with nothing asked out of the syllabus.
The UPSC CAPF exam consists of two papers.
- Paper I, on General Ability and Intelligence, is objective in nature and comprises 125 questions (multiple-choice) worth a total of 250 marks, with a negative marking of –1/3rd mark for every wrong answer.
- Paper II is a descriptive paper covering Essay, General Studies, and Comprehension, to be attempted only in English, and is evaluated solely for candidates who clear the Paper I qualifying marks.

Was UPSC CAPF Paper 1 2026 Tough?
UPSC CAPF AC Paper 1 was moderate to difficult. Many questions were conceptual and required analytical thinking, though factual questions were also present. Candidates who regularly follow current affairs and revise static subjects found the paper manageable. Polity and Economy were comparatively long and difficult, while reasoning was relatively easier.
