The National Testing Agency (NTA) released the UGC NET Result 2026 for the December session on the official website, i.e., ugcnet.nta.nic.in. More than 7 lakh candidates appeared for the eligibility test, and only 1.76 lakh were declared qualified. Candidates can check their results by clicking on the result link given below.

How to Check UGC NET Result from the Official website?

Candidates need their login credentials to check their results & marks from the official website-

  1. Application Number
  2. Date of Birth

Follow the step-by-step process to check the result. 

Step 1 – Go to the Official Website- Visit the official website of the National Test Agency (NTA), i.e., www.ugcnet.nta.ac.in.

Step 2 – Click on the Result Link- Click on the link that says UGC NET December 2025- Click here for Scorecard on the homepage.

Step 3 – Enter Login Details- Select Examination Name and enter your login credentials, which include your application number, date of birth, and the captcha code displayed on the screen.

Step 4 – Enter Security Pin- After providing valid details, enter the security pin as shown in the image.

Step 5 – Submit & View- Click on the “Submit” button. The Result appears on the system screen.

Step 6 – Download Result- Download the result and print it out for future reference.

How Normalisation Works in UGC NET Exam?

  • Scores are calculated using percentile scores (not raw scores)
  • The highest score in each shift is taken as the benchmark
  • All other scores are adjusted proportionally
  • Formula Used: Percentile Score = (Number of candidates who scored equal to or below your score ÷ Total candidates in that shift) × 100

UGC NET Certificate

The UGC NET Certificate is an important document issued by the National Testing Agency (NTA) to candidates who qualify for the UGC NET exam. It serves as proof of eligibility for the post of Assistant Professor and/or for Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) in Indian universities and colleges.

  • Assistant Professor/Lectureship: The UGC NET Certificate is valid for a lifetime.
  • Junior Research Fellowship (JRF): The JRF Award Letter is valid for three years from the date of issue.

What is UGC NET Passing Marks?

For the UGC NET exam, the passing marks for General/EWS is 40% and for OBC/SC/ST/PwD/Transgender passing marks is 35% in both papers, also candidates need to score more than minimum cut-off marks.

How can I download my UGC NET Scorecard if I forgot my Application Number?

Candidates go to the NTA officials website and tab on "Forgot Application Number?" link. Candidates need to provide your Name, Father’s Name, Mother’s Name, and Date of Birth to retrieve it via your registered email or mobile number.

What does "Qualified for Assistant Professor Only" mean?

This means candidates eligible to apply for Assistant Professor roles across India for life but did not rank high enough to receive the Junior Research Fellowship (JRF).
