Age Relaxation

Nationality

The candidate must have the required nationality to be eligible for the SSC JE Exam 2026. They must provide the document which provides proof of nationality. Candidates must come from one of the following nationalities to take the exam.

a resident of India, or
a subject of Nepal, or
A subject of Bhutan or
a person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania (formerly Tanganyika and Zanzibar), Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia and Vietnam to permanently set in India.

Education Qualification

Candidates need specific education qualifications to apply for the SSC JE Exam 2026. The education requirement of the applicant varies from organisation to position. Candidates will have to provide the original certificates at the time of document verification. The degrees should be certified by a recognised university.

The programmes in engineering, medicine, dental, nursing, pharmacy, architecture and physiotherapy etc. are not permitted to be offered under Open and Distance Learning mode. Only B.Tech. degree/ diploma in Engineering awarded by IGNOU to the students, who were enrolled up to academic year 2009-10, shall be treated as valid, wherever applicable.
