A total of 330 vacancies have been announced for the Executive Trainee posts by the Nuclear Power Corporation of India Ltd. (NPCIL) for which official notification has been released at https://www.npcilcareers.co.in/. Candidates will be shortlisted for a personal interview on the basis of a valid score obtained in the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) 2024/2025/2026. Candidates who are eligible for the post must not lose this opportunity and must apply for the exam.

NPCIL Executive Trainee Eligibility Criteria 2026

Candidates who are interested in applying for the post must check whether they are eligible for the post in terms of educational qualification, GATE score, and age limit. NPCIL requires candidates with an engineering background within a specific age limit to apply for the post.

Educational Qualification

• Candidates must have completed B.E., B.Tech, or B. Sc (Engineering), or a 5-year integrated M.Tech degree, with a minimum of 60% marks in aggregate in any one of the 6 notified engineering disciplines.
• Candidates must have completed their graduation from a university recognised by AICTC/UGC.
• NIFCL will accept candidates who have done graduation through full-time, regular, on-campus courses.
• Candidates who have completed their degree through distance learning, correspondence, part-time or research-based methods are not eligible for the recruitment.
• Candidates who are in their final semester or final year of 2026 are also eligible to apply, provided they produce their final marksheet by 30th November 2026 with 60& marks in aggregate.

Age Limit (as on 30/06/2026)

Candidates from the general category must not be more than 26 years of age as on 30th April 2026. So, the unreserved category candidates who are born on or after 1st May 2000 are eligible to apply. However, candidates from the reserved category will get benefits from the upper age relaxation, which is shown in the table:

NPCIL Executive Trainee Application Fee 2026

To successfully submit the application form, candidates must pay the non-refundable application fee in any online payment mode. Fee paid through any offline mode will not be accepted, and the application will be rejected.

How to Apply for NPCIL Executive Trainee Recruitment 2026?

Candidates must apply for the recruitment through online mode only. Before starting with the application form filling, candidates must keep certain documents in scanned format beforehand. Candidates can complete their application process by following the steps given below:

1. Open any internet browser and go to the official website of NIPCL, https://www.npcilcareers.co.in.
2. On the homepage, locate the “Careers” section at the top and click on it.
3. On the new page, click on “New Registration”. In this, complete the registration by entering the details of a valid GATE score, engineering discipline, category, personal details, email ID, and mobile number. After successful registration, an activation link will be sent to your registered email ID.
4. Now log in with your registration details and fill out the application form with your educational qualification, work experience, personal & category details, interview city preference, and reactor stream preference (PHWR/LWR).
5. Upload a recently clicked scanned photograph of size 10 KB to 50 KB and a signature of maximum size 50 KB. Both these documents must be uploaded in JPEG format.
6. Then, pay the application fee as per your category through Debit Card/Credit Card/Net Banking/UPI Payment.
7. Now review your application of all the details that you have entered. NIPCL will not allow any changes in the application form after submission. Once satisfied, you can click on the “Submit” button. After successful submission, the Application Number will be generated, which candidates must note down.
8. Download and take a printout of your application form.

NPCIL Executive Trainee Selection Process 2026

NIPCL shortlists candidates through their performance in GATE, which is followed by a personal interview and medical fitness test. Candidates must qualify through each round to get a final appointment.

1. Shortlisting based on GATE score: At first, candidates will get shortlisted based on their valid GATE score. Candidates will be called for the next round in a 1:12 ratio.
2. Personal Interview: Shortlisted candidates will have to appear for an Interview. This stage evaluates candidates based on their technical knowledge, problem-solving ability, and communication skills. Candidates from the UR/General category must score a minimum of 70% in the Interview. Those from the EWS/SC/ST/OBC-NCL/PwBD must score at least 60% marks.

The final selection in NIPCL is based on the candidate’s performance in the interview round.

Training Details

All stream candidates shortlisted through the recruitment process will have to undergo a training period of 1 year at any of the NPCIL training centres. NPCIL may change the training location, duration, or stream during the training period. Candidates must check the points given below to know more about the training details:

• Candidates who have opted for Pressurised Heavy Water Reactor (PHWR) Stream have to undergo training at any of the NPCIL’s Nuclear Training Centres (NTC).
• Those who have chosen the Light Water Reactor (LWR) Stream will get training at the Nuclear Training Centre (NTC), which is located at Kudankulam Nuclear Power Project (KKNPP) Site, Nagarcoil, Tamil Nadu.
• Candidates who are from any of the Mechanical, Chemical, Electrical, Electronics, and Instrumentation
  disciplines will have to indicate their preference for “Reactor Stream” in their application. They can select either a Pressurised Heavy Water Reactor (PHWR) Stream or a Light Water Reactor (LWR) Stream.
• Candidates who are from the Civil discipline are not required to give preference to any of the streams.

NPCIL Executive Trainee Salary 2026

NIPCL offers an attractive salary, which includes a fixed monthly stipend and allowances. The salary structure includes a fixed stipend paid during the training period and a regular monthly salary paid after the completion of training. Along with this, selected candidates also get allowances and benefits as per the 7th Pay Commission rules.
