Every five years, India holds the Lok Sabha elections, which are regarded as one of the biggest political gatherings in the country and probably the world. The Election Commission of India has announced the 18th Lok Sabha Election 2024 Dates on 16th March 2024 through a press meeting. The elections will begin from 19th April 2024 and will be conducted in 7 phases. The counting of results for the Lok Sabha elections will be done on 4th June 2024. On 16th June 2024, the term for the current government will come to an end as stated by the chief election commissioner Rajiv Kumar.

The poll dates for the Lok Sabha Election 2024 have been released, and a complete schedule of elections for all 7 phases has been announced. Phase I will be conducted on 19th April 2024, phase II on 26th May 2024, and so on.

- Assam: Polling on 19th, 26th April, and 7th May 2024.
- Delhi: Voting for all 7 constituencies on 25th May 2024.
- Gujarat: Voting on 7th May.
- Haryana: Voting on May 25, in the 6th phase.
- Himachal Pradesh: Polls on June 1, in the seventh phase.
- Jharkhand: Parliamentary polls on May 13, May 20, May 25, and June 1.
- Karnataka: Polls in two phases on April 26 and May 7.
- Maharashtra: Elections in five phases on 19th April, 26th April, 7th May, 13th May, and 20th May.
- Madhya Pradesh: Elections in four phases on 19th, 26th, April, 7th and 13th May 2024.

The Lok Sabha consists of a total of 543 seats out of which, 412 are reserved for general categories, 84 for scheduled tribes, and 47 seats for scheduled caste candidates.

Chief Election Commissioner on Lok Sabha Election 2024
The Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) has announced that voters who are more than 85 years of age and persons with disability (PwD) will get the opportunity to vote from their homes. The chief election commissioner has also assumed that at more than 12 lakh polling places, 96.8 crore people are eligible to vote in the next elections.
