BHU Recruitment 2026 Eligibility
To apply for the Banaras Hindu University Recruitment 2026, candidates must fulfil the following age and educational requirements.
Educational Requirements
Principal (CHBS, CHGS, SRSV)
Master’s degree with at least 50% marks for Shri Ranveer Sanskrit Vidyalaya (SRSV), Master’s in Vyakaran, Sahitya, Jyotish, Veda, Darshan, or Sanskrit.
B.Ed. or equivalent from NCTE-approved institution.
Experience (any one):
- Principal in Govt./Autonomous organization (Pay Level-12).
- Vice-Principal/Asst. Education Officer (Pay Level-10) with 5 years as PGT + 2 years as Vice-Principal.
- PGT/Lecturer (Pay Level-8) with 8 years’ service.
- 15 years combined service as TGT + PGT (minimum 3 years as PGT).
Other requirements:
- Experience must be in a boys’ school (CHBS) or girls’ school (CHGS).
- Computer knowledge desirable.
- Appointment: Tenure/deputation, 5-year term with re-appointment possible.
PGT (Post Graduate Teacher)
- Master’s degree with 50% in relevant subject OR 2-year integrated M.Sc. from NCERT.
- B.Ed. or equivalent from NCTE-approved institution.
- Proficiency in Hindi & English; for SRSV, Hindi & Sanskrit.
- Subjects: English, Hindi, Maths, History, Economics, Psychology, Darshan, Physics, Physical Education.
TGT (Trained Graduate Teacher)
- 4-year integrated degree from NCERT OR Bachelor’s degree with at least 50% in relevant subjects.
- B.Ed. or equivalent from NCTE-approved institution.
- CTET qualified.
- Proficiency in Hindi & English; for SRSV, Hindi & Sanskrit.
Special TGTs:
- Music: Degree in Music, 50% marks.
- Physical Education: B.P.Ed., 50% marks.
PRT (Primary Teacher)
- Senior Secondary (50% marks) + 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education OR
- Senior Secondary (50% marks) + 4-year B.El.Ed. OR
- Senior Secondary (50% marks) + 2-year Diploma in Special Education.
- CTET qualified.
