Candidates must follow the tips mentioned below to improve their performance in the APGENCO AEE Exam:
- Understand the weightage before you start: Since core engineering subjects carry 70 of the 100 marks, allocate your study time roughly in that ratio — spend close to 70% of your prep time on your branch-specific technical subjects and the remaining 30% on Reasoning, General Awareness, English, Quantitative Aptitude, and Computer Knowledge combined. Don’t let aptitude prep eat into core subject time; it’s the smaller scoring section.
- Prioritize high-weightage technical topics first: Within your core subject, not all topics carry equal weight. For Electrical, focus first on Power Systems, Electrical Machines, and Control Systems, since these typically have the highest question density in AEE-pattern exams. For Civil, prioritize Structural Analysis, Strength of Materials, and Geotechnical Engineering. For Mechanical, start with Thermodynamics, Strength of Materials, and Theory of Machines. For ECE, begin with Analog/Digital Electronics and Communication Systems.
- Build a 6–8 week subject-wise timetable: Given the CBT is scheduled for 22–29 August 2026, candidates have roughly 7–8 weeks from now. - Take sectional and full-length mock tests in the last 3 weeks: Simulate the 3-hour, 100-question CBT format under timed conditions at least twice a week starting from week 6.
