CGPEB conducts CG TET 2026 for candidates who want to become teachers for classes 1 to 5 and 6 to 8. CG TET Paper 1 is divided into five sections, namely Child Development & Pedagogy, Language I (Hindi), Language II (English/Urdu/Sanskrit), Mathematics, and Environmental Studies. CG TET Paper 2 is divided into four sections, namely Child Development & Pedagogy, Language I (Hindi), Language II (English/Urdu/Sanskrit), and Mathematics & Science/Social Science.

There are two papers, namely Paper-1 for eligibility to teach in Primary Level 1st to 5th, and Paper-2 for eligibility to teach in Upper Primary Level 6th to 8th, and the exam is conducted in offline mode.

- CG TET Paper 1 is conducted for candidates aspiring to teach Classes I to V.

- The paper consists of objective-type multiple-choice questions (MCQs).
- A total of 150 questions are asked in the Question Paper for 150 marks.
- Each question is of 1 mark.
- The total time duration to solve the question paper is 2 hours and 30 minutes.
- There is no negative marking.
- The paper is divided into five sections:
(i) Child Development & Pedagogy
(ii) Language I (Hindi)
(iii) Language II (English/Urdu/Sanskrit)
(iv) Mathematics
(v) Environmental Studies - Each section contains 30 questions for 30 marks.

- CG TET Paper 2 is conducted for candidates aspiring to teach Classes VI to VIII.
- The examination is held in offline (pen and paper-based) mode.
- The paper consists of objective-type multiple-choice questions (MCQs).
- A total of 150 questions are asked in the examination for 150 marks.
- Each question is of 1 mark.
- The total time duration to solve the question paper is 2 hours and 30 minutes.
- The sections included in CG TET Paper 2 are:
(i) Child Development & Pedagogy
(ii) Language I (Hindi)
(iii) Language II (English/Urdu/Sanskrit)
(iv) Mathematics & Science or Social Science
(v) Child Development & Pedagogy, Language I, and Language II consist of 30 questions for 30 marks each. - The Mathematics & Science/Social Science section consists of 60 questions for 60 marks.
- There is no negative marking.
