WBPSC Food SI Selection Process

The selection of the candidates for Food Sub-Inspector posts will be based on a written exam and personality test/ interview. Based on marks obtained in the written exam candidates will be called for a personality test. The final merit list will be prepared on the basis of the total marks obtained in the Written Examination and Personality Test.

WBPSC Food SI Written Exam Pattern 2024

This first stage comprises a WBPSC Food SI written examination, here candidates will be tested on topics across general studies and arithmetic.

• Mode of Exam- The WBPSC Food SI examination will be held through multiple choice objective (MCQ) type questions.
• The exam will have 2 sections- General Studies (Matters of common experience including everyday science, current events, and problems with special reference to India, elementary knowledge of Indian History and Indian Geography) and Arithmetic (Questions will be set on the basis of the syllabus of Madhyamik Examination of the W.B.B.S.E. with mental ability)
• This paper will be conducted for 100 marks.
• Duration of Exam- 1.5 Hours (90 minutes).
• Each question will be worth one mark and for each wrong answer, one-third of the mark will be deducted.

WBPSC Food SI Personality Test

This is the final stage in the selection process where candidates are interviewed by the panel formulated by the WBPSC on various aspects. A limited number of candidates selected merit-wise on the results of the written examination will be called to appear at the personality test. The Personality Test/ Interview Test will be held for 20 Marks and the final merit list will be prepared considering the marks secured by the candidates in the written examination and interview exam.
