UP CNET Selection Process 2026

The selection process for the Common Nursing Entrance Test has multiple stages. The process starts with a written exam, which is then followed by counselling, seat allotment and then document verification. The step-wise selection stages are given below:

  1. Written Exam: All candidates who have successfully applied for the UP CNET have to give a 120-mark offline test. Marks obtained in the exam will decide the allotment of the college.
  2. Result & Merit List: After conducting the exam, ABVMU will release the results and scorecard. Candidates will be ranked based on the marks of the entrance exam. This rank will be used for the counselling process.
  3. Online Counselling Registration: ABVMU will release the counselling dates, during which qualified candidates must register themselves.
  4. College Choice Filling: During the counselling process, candidates must select the colleges and nursing courses of their choice.
  5. Seat Allotment: The university will allot seats to candidates based on their marks, rank, category, the state’s reservation rules and their preferred college. This process is generally covered in multiple rounds so that all qualified candidates get admission.
  6. Document Verification: Once the seat allotment is done, shortlisted candidates have to verify their identity, academics, and category certificate at their allotted college. Following this, candidates will get admission to the college.

UP CNET Exam Pattern 2026

The exam is conducted in an objective-type format. Candidates need to finish 120 questions in a span of 140 minutes or 2 hours and 20 minutes. Each of these questions carries 1 mark. Each subject carries 20 % weightage. For each correct answer, candidates are awarded 1 mark. There is no negative marking for any incorrect answers. The UP CNET exam pattern is given below:
