NVS Junior Secretariat Assistant Exam Pattern 2025

There will be a two-tier exam followed by a Skill Test for the NVS JSA. The final merit list will be based on the marks scored in Tier 2, but candidates must also qualify the Skill Test.

JSA Tier 1 Exam Pattern

NVS JSA Exam 2025 for Tier 1 consists of 5 sections, from which 100 questions are going to be asked.

  • Each question in Tier-1 carries 3 marks.
  • There is a negative marking of 1 mark for every wrong answer.
  • No marks will be given for unanswered questions.
  • The duration of the exam is 2 hours

JSA Tier 2 Exam Pattern

The exam has 60 objective questions of 60 marks and 10 descriptive questions of 40 marks. For objective section:

  • +1 mark for each correct answer.
  • –0.25 negative marking for each wrong answer.

Skill Test for JSA

For the post of Junior Secretariat Assistant (NVS), candidates must appear for a typing test conducted on a computer. Candidates must qualify this typing test to be eligible, the required typing speed is:

  • 30 words per minute in English.
  • 25 words per minute in Hindi.
