MPSC Group B Eligibility Criteria 2026

Candidates interested in applying for the recruitment must check the eligibility criteria that MPSC has prescribed for the Group B posts. The criteria include educational qualification, language proficiency, age limit, and physical standards.

Educational Qualification

  • Candidates applying for the posts must have completed their Graduation in any subject from a recognized university or an equivalent qualification as recognized by the Government of India.
  • Those candidates who are appearing in their final year of graduation examination can apply for the Prelims exam. But they must have passed their degree examination before the last date of the application for the Mains examination.
  • In case candidates are pursuing an internship, then it must have been completed before the last date for the Mains exam application form filling.
  • Knowledge of the Marathi language is mandatory to apply for the MPSC Group B rerecruitment. This means that candidates must be able to read, write, and speak Marathi well.

Age Limit (as on 1/8/2024)

The minimum age of candidates varies with the post, and the cut-off date for the age limit will be calculated as on 1st August 2024. Candidates applying for the Assistant Room Officer post must be at least 18 years of age. Those who are applying for State Tax Inspector and Police Sub-Inspector posts must be at least 19 years of age. The maximum age and the age relaxation for the reserved category vary with the post, which candidates can check from the table below:

Physical Standards

This criterion applies only to Police Sub-Inspector candidates. This includes height and chest measurements for male candidates and only height measurements for female candidates. Candidates must meet the physical standards, which will be checked before the final appointment.

MPSC Group B Application Fee 2026

Candidates must pay the examination fee as per their category. In addition, bank charges and applicable taxes will also be added. The application fee is non-refundable under any circumstances. Candidates must pay the application fee through any online mode, such as Debit Card, Credit Card, Net Banking, or any other payment gateway available through SBI. Candidates can also pay through the offline challan payment option, but must deposit the fee at an SBI branch and print the payment receipt. Steps to Apply Online for MPSC Group B Recruitment 2026

To apply for the recruitment, candidates need to complete the registration, verify the profile, upload relevant documents, pay the application fee, and select the exam centre. Before starting with the application, candidates must keep all the documents ready. Candidates can follow the steps given below to complete the application process:

  1. Open any browser, and visit the official website of MPSC, either at www.mpsconline.gov.in or at mpsc.gov.in.
  2. On the homepage, click on the Login, located on the left side.
  3. Now, click on new registration or create profile. In this, enter your full name, mobile number, email ID, date of birth, and Aadhaar Card details. This will create your login credentials, which you must verify via mobile or email using OTP.
  4. Now complete the KYC verification, which also includes Aadhar verification and profile validation. Make sure that your name, DOB, gender, and mobile number match the official documents.
  5. Then, enter your personal details such as name, gender, category, domicile, marital status, and address.
  6. Then enter your educational qualification, which includes a graduation degree, university name, passing year, marks/percentage, and final year appearing status, and choose the posts for which you want to apply.
  7. Select the category to which you belong. Candidates can claim a reservation only if they have a valid certificate.
  8. Upload the documents in PDF format, whose size should be from 50 KB to 500 KB. The documents include a caste certificate, sports certificate, ex-servicemen proof, a photo and a signature.
  9. Choose the exam district or centre carefully. Once submitted, the exam centres cannot be changed.
  10. Preview the application form and then click on the “Save and Next” option.
  11. Then, pay the application fee as per your category, using any online payment.
  12. After payment, submit the application, but wait until the payment status shows Payment Successful.
  13. Then download the application confirmation page and take a printout of it.

MPSC Group B Selection Process 2026

The selection process shortlist candiadtes through multiple stages, which access candidate’s knowledge, aptitude and post-specific skills. The selection stages are:

  1. Prelims: This is a screening stage and is conducted for 100 marks in an objective-type format.
  2. Mains: This is an exam of 400 marks. The scores of this stage will be considered for the final.
  3. Physical Test: This stage is only for candidates applying to Police Sub-Inspector (PSI) posts and is qualifying in nature. Candidates must score 60 marks out of 100 marks.
  4. Interview: In this round, candidates’ personality, communication, and post suitability are tested.
  5. Document Verification: In this, candidates have to show their original documents to verify their eligibility.

In the MPSC Group B exam, both the Prelims and Mains exam has objective type format. The Prelims have a single paper of General Studies, but the Mains have two papers.

MPSC Group B Salary 2026

Selected candidates will get salary as per the 7th Pay Commission. The salary structure for Group B posts falls under the Pay Level 8 and Pay Level 9. In addition, candidates also gets allownaces such as DA, HRA, TA, medical benefits. The salary structure for different posts is given below:
