IRB Constable Selection Process 2026
Candidates must qualify for each stage to move forward in the recruitment process. The Stage-II (PST, PET & Trade Test) and Stage-III (Medical Fitness Test) shall be qualifying in nature only.
Written Examination: This is the first stage of the selection process, which is conducted for 200 marks, and the minimum qualifying mark is 33%. Only 1:3 candidates will be shortlisted based on merit.
Physical Test & Trade Test: Candidates who qualified for the written test will be called for the Physical Standard Test (PST), Physical Efficiency Test (PET) and Trade Test. This test measures the height & chest of candidates, including long jump, running, high jump and post-specific test. This test is qualifying in nature.
Medical Examination: Candidates who clear the PST/PET test will undergo a medical fitness test. Only medical fit candidates will be considered for the final selection.

Minimum Qualifying Marks
To be declared qualified in the IRB GD Constable exam, a candidate must secure a minimum of 33% in the written examination paper. Candidates securing less than 33% marks in aggregate shall be deemed not eligible for selection.
IRB GD Physical Test 2026
The total number of candidates shortlisted for stage-II (PST, PET & Trade Test) will be in l:3 ratio, subject to the candidates securing a minimum of 33% marks in aggregate in the written examination

Physical Standard Test
The IRB GD PST includes measurements for height and chest, and is qualifying in nature. No marks will be added for preparing the final merit list.

Required Documents for DV process
Shortlisted candidates after all stages of recuitment process are called for DV. During the DV process, candidates must carry both original documents and their photocopies. In addition to physical verification, candidates will also be required to upload scanned copies of the required documents on the APSSB portal when notified. The required documents are as follows.

- Matriculation Certificates issued by the Board/University for proof of date of birth
