IBPS Clerk Shift Timings 2026, Prelims & Mains Timings & Exam Day Guidelines

Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS) is going to conduct the IBPS Clerk Preliminary Examination 2026 to shortlist eligible candidates for the mains exam for Customer Service Associate (CSA)/ Clerk posts. IBPS Clerk prelims exam will be conducted on 10th and 11th October 2026 in 4 shifts each day. Candidates appearing for the exam must be aware of their allotted shift timing to ensure they reach the exam venue well on time.

IBPS Clerk Shift Timings 2026

IBPS Clerk Exam 2026 is a Computer-Based Test which is to be held in two phases (Prelims and Mains). Candidates can appear for their prelims exam as per their official shift timing allocated to them by the exam authority. Aspirants can check details regarding shift timings, including the reporting time, gate closing time, and exam timing etc, through their respective IBPS Clerk Admit Card 2026.

IBPS Clerk Prelims Shift Timings 2026

The IBPS Clerk Prelims Exam will be conducted in four shifts at various exam centres across the country. The duration of each shift is 1 hour (60 minutes). Knowing exam shift timings early for the IBPS Clerk Prelims allows candidates to plan their preparation, commute, and exam-day timings well in advance.

Generally, IBPS Clerk Mains exam is conducted in a single shift but on the basis of number of candidates, it may be held in 2 shifts.

IBPS Clerk Exam Day Guidelines

  1. Candidates must carry a photocopy of the IBPS Clerk Prelims Admit Card 2026 with their photographs affixed thereon
  2. Candidates need to paste their photographs on their call letter and carry more photographs to the examination venue
  3. Along with the admit card, candidates must bring photo identity proof (Such as PAN Card/ Passport/ Permanent Driving License/ Voter’s Card with photograph/Bank Passbook with photographs/Aadhaar Card/ E-Aadhaar Card with a photograph/ Employee ID). Ration Card and Learner’s Driving License will not be accepted as valid ID Proof.
  4. Candidates should ascertain the exact location of the venue well in advance of the date of the examination
  5. Candidates have to carry a ballpoint pen with them to the examination hall.
  6. Candidates are advised not to bring any of the banned items to the exam centre as arrangements and safekeepting can not be assured.
  7. Mobile phones, smartwatches, bags, calculators, and other electronic devices are prohibited inside the exam centre.
