After completing the selection process for the UPSC CDS exam, the candidates have the chance to become officers in the Indian Army, Indian Navy, or Indian Air Force. The candidates will be posted as Lieutenants or Flying Officers, depending on their chosen service, after completing their training period. Officers who are recruited through CDS are commissioned into the Indian Armed Forces and receive a monthly salary between Rs. 56,100 and Rs. 2,50,000, depending on their rank and experience. They can serve the nation for a minimum of 10 years and a maximum of 14 years, after which they can either leave the service or extend it on a contractual basis.
