BPSC AEDO Exam 2026 Cancelled After Malpractice Attempts, New Exam Schedule Soon

The Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) has cancelled two major competitive exams following organised cheating attempts at multiple centres, issuing an official press notice on the matter. BPSC Assistant Education Development Officer (AEDO) written exam against Advertisement No. 87/2025 which was held from 14th to 21st April 2026, has been cancelled, and new dates will be announced soon.

Along with the AEDO exam, BPSC also cancelled the Assistant Public Cleanliness and Waste Management Officer written exam (Advertisement No. 108/2025), which was held on 23rd April 2026. This decision was also taken in the interest of transparency and merit-based selection.

Why is the BPSC AEDO Exam 2026 Cancelled?

During the AEDO competitive examination, district administrations at various centres detected organised attempts to facilitate cheating using Bluetooth devices and similar means. Social anti-elements and some candidates were found to be actively involved in these attempts. FIRs and other punitive actions were swiftly taken against those involved. Additionally, 32 candidates were barred from appearing in future BPSC examinations on charges of attempting to cheat and conspiring to disrupt the exam.

Here are the key reasons behind the cancellation:

  1. Cheating attempts using Bluetooth were found at several centres across Bihar.
  2. 32 candidates were caught trying to cheat or conspiring to disrupt the exam.
  3. Misleading news about the exam was being spread on social media and in newspapers, which further affected the integrity of the examination.
  4. The overall fairness and transparency of the exam was considered compromised.

As the commission has previously stated that the examinations will be conducted with complete transparency and free from malpractice, but due to some unavoidable circumstances, the exam has now been cancelled and is expected to be reconducted soon. What’s next for candidates?

BPSC has not yet announced fresh exam dates. Candidates who appeared for either exam are advised to regularly check the official BPSC website and social media handles for updates on re-examination schedules. Candidates must focus on their studies and revise the important topics.

Bihar AEDO Question Paper 2026 Structure

The BPSC AEDO Exam includes three papers, all objective in nature. Paper 1 will be of General Language, Paper 2 will be of General Studies, and Paper 3 will be of General Aptitude.

  • The exam consists of three objective papers: General Language, General Studies, and General Aptitude.
  • Each paper carries 100 marks with a duration of 2 hours.
  • Negative marking: 1/3rd mark will be deducted for every wrong answer.
  • The General Language paper includes 2 parts, i.e., Part 1 General English (30 marks) and Part 2 General Hindi (70 marks)
