Bihar BPSSC Police Havildar Instructor Eligibility Criteria 2026

To apply for BPSSC Police Havildar Instructor recruitment, candidates have to fulfil specific eligibility conditions, which include nationality, educational qualification, age limit, and physical standards. Educational Qualification

Candidates must have passed Intermediate (10+2) or an equivalent examination from a recognised board. Candidates must ensure that the qualification has been completed on or before 1st August 2025.

Physical Requirements

In physical requirements, BPSSC will check the candidate’s height, weight, and chest measurements. No marks will be awarded for those who pass the physical test. But failing will result in disqualification from the recruitment process. The physical standards for different categories are given below:

Transgender (Third Gender) categories

• Physical Standards and Physical Efficiency Test criteria will be the same as those of Backward Class (BC) candidates.
• As per the Transgender Persons (Protection of Rights) Rules 2020, candidates must provide a valid identity certificate (Form 3) issued by the District Magistrate.
• The category of the candidate will be determined based on the gender mentioned in the certificate.

Bihar BPSSC Police Havildar Instructor Selection Process 2026

The selection process for the Bihar BPSSC Police Havildar Instructor recruitment 2026 is conducted through multiple steps, which check both the candidate’s academic knowledge and physical fitness. Candidates at first have to qualify for a written exam. The candidates will be shortlisted around 5 times the number of notified vacancies for the Physical Efficiency Test. The physically qualified candidates will then appear for the document verification.

For Halivdar Inspector recruitment, BPSSC has prescribed a two-step exam pattern. First is the written exam, and the second is the physical efficiency test. Candidates can check the exam pattern for both these tests below.

The written exam will bec of the level of Class 10th (Matric) or the equivalent, as per the Bihar school examination standard. The exam will have 6 subjects: Hindi, English, Mathematics, Social Science (History, Geography, Civics, Economics), Science (Physics, Chemistry, Zoology, Botany), and General Knowledge & Current Affairs.

• The exam will contain only objective-type questions.
• The written exam will be of 100 marks.
• The total duration of the exam is 2 hours.
• Each question will carry 1 mark.
• In case the exam is conducted in multiple shifts, normalisation will be applied, using the Equi-Percentile Method.
• Candidates have to score a minimum qualifying mark of 30% or above.
• The written exam is qualifying in nature, so marks will not be counted for final merit.

Bihar BPSSC Police Halivdar Inspector Physical Efficiency Test Pattern 2026

BPSSC has provided the exam pattern for PET, which carries a total of 100 marks. Among these marks, 50 marks are allotted for running. While Short Put and High Jump individually carry 25 marks. Candidates must qualify in all three stages separately. Only 3 attempts will be allowed for the Short Put and High Jump. The final merit will be prepared based on the total marks obtained in the PET. The exam pattern of the different stages of PET is discussed below:

Bihar BPSSC Police Halivdar Inspector Salary 2026

Candidates selected through the recruitment will be placed in Pay Level 4 as per the Bihar State Pay Matrix. The salary ranges between Rs. 25,500 and Rs. 81,100. Candidates will also get government benefits in the form of DA, HRA, TA, medical benefits, and other allowances as per the government rules.
