Assam Police Recruitment 2026 Eligibility Criteria

The candidates who are willing to apply for the  Assam Police Recruitment 2026 have to fulfil the required eligibility criteria as specified by the State Level Police Recruitment Board. The eligiblity criteria to be fulfilled in terms of Educational Qualification and Age Limit has been detailed below.

Educational Qualification

• Forester Grade-I: Candidates must possess a Bachelor’s Degree in any discipline from a recognized University or an equivalent qualification.
• Sub Officer & Constable (WO/WT): Applicants should have passed H.S. (Science) with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics (PCM) from a recognized Board or Council.
  Candidates must have secured passing marks in all three subjects (PCM) in the H.S. (Science) examination.
• Fireman & Emergency Rescuer: Candidates must have passed H.S. (Science) from a recognized Board or Council.
• Forest Guard, Game Watcher & Constable (UB) in APRO: Applicants should have passed H.S. (10+2) or an equivalent examination from a recognized Board or Council.
• AFPF Constable, Constable (Grade-III), Bandman (Constable) & Bugler: Candidates must have passed HSLC or an equivalent examination from a recognized Board or Council.
• Other Mandatory Qualification (for Constable Grade-III, Bandman & Bugler): Applicants other than Ex-Servicemen must possess either a Home Guard Certificate or a minimum NCC ‘A’ Certificate.
• Bandman (Constable): Candidates must have proficiency in playing at least one musical instrument, such as Bagpipes (Great Highland Bagpipes), Snare Drum, Tenor Drum, or Bass Drum, etc.
• Bugler: Applicants must have proficiency in playing the Bugle.

Age Limit

The post-wise minimum age limit and maximum age limit have been discussed below:

• Sub-Inspector: The candidate must be between 20 and 24 years of age.
• Constable (Grade-III), Bandman (Constable), Bugler, Forester Grade-I, Game Watcher & Forest Guard: Applicants should be between 18 and 40 years of age.
• AFPF Constable, Constable (WO/WT), Constable (UB), Fireman & Emergency Rescuer, and Boatman: Candidates must fall within the age range of 18 to 25 years.
