The Telangana government has approved 965 posts in the Hyderabad Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board (HMWSSB), which serves the Core Urban Region (CURE) of Hyderabad. This includes 230 engineering posts and 735 field-level posts such as linemen, junior and senior assistants, work inspectors, helpers, and supervisors. The Water Board currently operates across three regions, 60 circles, and 300 divisions within the CURE area, and much of its field staff has so far been outsourced. This recruitment drive is aimed at bringing in regular employees to strengthen field-level operations.

The Water Board had earlier proposed sanctioning around a thousand posts across roles such as linemen, junior and senior assistants, work inspectors, helpers, and supervisors; after review, the government has cleared 735 of these field-level posts, in addition to the 230 engineering posts approved earlier.
