Gujarat Public Service Commission (GPSC) is going to conduct the Gujarat Recruitment 2026 Preliminary Examination on 26th April 2026 (Sunday). GPSC Eligibility Criteria 2026

Candidates must meet the specific educational and age requirements for each post to be considered a valid applicant. Any candidates failing to meet the eligibility criteria will be rejected at any stage.

• All the applicants should have relevant qualifications for the specific post, such as a B.E./B. Tech in Civil, Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, an MBBS, Architecture or an equivalent degree from a recognized university/Institution.

• The age of the applicant will be determined as of 16th February 2026.

Gujarat AE Application Fee 2026

After successfully filling out the application form, the applicant should pay the fee to complete the application process. General category candidates have to pay Rs. 100/-, and reserve category candidates are exempt. Candidates can pay the application fee online and offline. For online payments, candidates can use Credit Card/Debit Card/Internet Banking/UPI, and for offline payments, candidates can use postal.

• General/OBC/EWS have to pay Rs. 100/- + applicable postal charge/service charge if candidates pay the application fee offline.
• SC/ST/PWD of Gujarat and ex-servicemen are exempted from paying the fee. and the reserve category from other states must pay the fee.

GPSC AE Selection Process 2026

The selection process for the posts of Assistant Engineer, Town Planner, and other posts will be conducted in three stages. Preliminary examination, Mains, and Interview. The mains exam will be conducted only for the Class 1 & 2 Admin Post.

1. Preliminary Examination will consist of objective-type questions.
2. Mains Examination will consist of descriptive questions, and the Mains exam will be conducted only for (Class 1&2 Admin post)
3. Interviews will be conducted for all posts. The final selection will be based on the written exam and interview performance.

GPSC AE Exam Pattern 2026

The GPSC AE Exam will be conducted for 300 marks. The written exam will be divided into 2 papers. Paper 1 consists of the General Studies paper, and Paper 2 consists of the subject-related paper. The written exam will carry only 50% of the weightage, and the interview will carry 50% weightage as well.

• The questions will be asked in the form of MCQs.
• Each question carries 1 mark.
• Total duration of the exam is 180 minutes.

GPSC AE Salary 2026

After filling out the application form, every candidate is excited to know about the salary. The post-wise salary details will be given in the official notification. Selected candidates can get the salary according to the 7th Pay Commission. The salary range of the Assistant Engineer is Rs. 44,900 to Rs. 1,42,400. Apart from the salary, candidates get several allowances, such as Travel Allowance (TA), Dearness Allowance (DA), House Rent Allowance (HRA), and various other allowances.
