The Intelligence Bureau (IB) has announced 455 vacancies for Security Assistants (Motor Transport), out of which 219 are reserved for the general category, 90 for OBC, and for other categories, check the table below.

IB Security Assistant MT Recruitment 2025 Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for IB SA Motor Transport Recruitment 2025, candidates must have passed 10th class, hold a valid LMV (Light Motor Vehicle) driving license, and have at least 1 year of driving experience. The age limit for applicants is 18 to 27 years, as on 28th September 2025. To be eligible to appear for the selection process, candidates have to fulfill the required eligibility criteria.

Essential Qualification

• Matriculation (10th pass) from a recognized Board of Education
• Possession of a valid driving license for Motor Cars (LMV) issued by the competent authority
• Knowledge of Motor Mechanism (The candidate should be able to remove minor defects in the vehicle)
• Experience of driving a Motor Car for at least one year after obtaining a valid driving license
• Possession of a domicile certificate of that State against which the candidate has applied.

Desirable Qualification

Possession of a valid driving license for a Motorcycle issued by the competent authority.

Experience Certificate

The Experience Certificate of Driving should be issued from any Central/State/Semi-Government Department/ Organization/ Institute/ Corporation or PSUs/ Autonomous Bodies/Registered Firms for at least one year after obtaining a valid Driving License.

Age Limit (As on 28.09.2025)

The prescribed age limit for the post of Security Assistant (Motor Transport) is 18 to 27 years, calculated as on 28th September 2025. Candidates must ensure that their date of birth falls within the age range specified in the official notification. Relaxations in the upper age limit are available for candidates belonging to reserved categories and certain special groups as per government rules.

Age Relaxation: 

• SC/ST candidates get a relaxation of 5 years, while OBC candidates are entitled to 3 years of relaxation.
• Departmental candidates working as Central Government civilian employees with at least 3 years of continuous service can apply up to the age of 40 years.
• In case of widows, divorced women, and women judicially separated from their husbands (not remarried), the maximum age limit is relaxed as follows:
  (i) UR: up to 35 years
  (ii) OBC: up to 38 years
  (iii) SC/ST: up to 40 years
• Ex-servicemen are eligible for age relaxation as per Government instructions issued from time to time.
• A relaxation of up to 5 years is available for meritorious sportspersons

IB Security Assistant Motor Transport Application Fee 2025

Before submitting the application form for IB Security Assistant MT Recruitment 2025, candidates have to pay an application fee that includes two components, i.e., Examination Fee and Recruitment Processing Charges. Fee can be paid online by using Debit Cards (RuPay/Visa/MasterCard/Maestro), Credit Cards, Internet Banking, UPI, SBI Challan, and once paid, the fee is non-refundable under any circumstances.

The selection process for IB Security Assistant MT Recruitment 2025 will be conducted in four stages, and candidates must qualify at each stage to move forward:

• Tier-I Written Examination (100 Marks): An objective-type test consisting of General Awareness, Driving Rules, Reasoning, Aptitude, and English.
• Tier-II Exam (50 Marks): This stage includes a Driving Test and Motor Mechanism Test, followed by an Interview. Candidates’ practical knowledge of vehicle handling, identifying and fixing minor defects, and overall driving skills will be assessed.
• Document Verification (DV): Shortlisted candidates will undergo verification of their original certificates related to educational qualifications, age, caste, experience, and other eligibility criteria.
• Medical Examination (ME): Candidates must pass a medical fitness test conducted as per IB standards to ensure they are physically fit for the job.

The exam Pattern for IB Security Assistant Motor Transport is as follows:

• The examination will be conducted in online mode
• There will be a total of 100 questions for 100 marks
• The duration of the exam is 1 hour
• For each correct answer, 1 mark will be given, while for every incorrect attempt 0.25 marks will be deducted.
• Qualifying Marks (out of 100)
  UR: 30 marks
  OBC: 28 marks
  SC/ST: 25 marks
  EWS: 30 marks
• After clearing the exam, Tier 2 will be conducted for Motor Mechanism and Driving Test cum interview

IB Security Assistant MT Salary 2025

The post of IB Security Assistant (Motor Transport) comes under the Level-3 pay scale (Rs. 21,700 – Rs. 69,100) as per the 7th CPC pay matrix. Along with the basic pay, selected candidates will receive a Special Security Allowance (SSA) of 20% of basic pay, which makes the salary package more rewarding compared to other similar Group ‘C’ posts.

Employees are also entitled to cash compensation in lieu of duty performed on holidays, subject to a ceiling of 30 days. In addition to these, the post carries several central government allowances like HRA, DA, Transport Allowance, Medical facilities, Pension benefits, and other perks as admissible.
