WBP SI Selection Process 2025
To select only eligible candidates out of thousands of candidates, the authorities follow a method of selection. Following the selection process makes it easier for authorities to get the most suitable candidates for the posts of Sub-Inspector. The WBP SI selection process involves five stages, which are listed below. Candidates must pass every stage to be hired for the role.

WBP SI Exam Pattern 2025
The WBP SI exam includes two exams, i.e., prelims and a final competitive exam; the exam pattern for both exams is different. Candidates must be aware of the exam pattern for both exams, which is provided below.
WBP SI Prelims Exam Pattern
The first stage for the selection of Sub-Inspectors posts is a preliminary examination of 200 marks. The exam will include multiple-choice questions (MCQ).
- There are a total of 100 questions in the prelim exam.
- Each question carries 2 marks, i.e., for every correct answer in the WBP prelims exam, candidates will get 2 marks.
- There will be negative marking, i.e,. 1/4 marks will be deducted for every wrong answer.

WBP SI Final Competitive Exam Pattern
After clearing the prelims exam, PMT, and PET, candidates will have to appear for a final combined competitive examination, which will include three papers, i.e., General Studies & Arithmetic, English, and Hindi/Bengali/Urdu/Nepali.
- The exam will be in Bengali, English & Nepali languages.
- All three exams will be conducted on the same date.
