UP Special TET Exam 2026- Highlights

Uttar Pradesh Teacher Eligibility Test (UPTET) is a state-level exam that certifies candidates for Primary (Class 1–5) and Upper Primary (Class 6–8) teaching positions in Uttar Pradesh government and government-aided schools.

UP Special TET Exam 2026- Important Dates

UP Special TET 2026 Exam Date Out

UP Special Teacher Eligibility Test (Special TET) 2026 will be conducted on November 3, 2026. The exam will be held in offline mode, and a total of 100 questions asked for total 100 marks. Further details regarding the exam will be released along with its admit card on November 1, 2026.

Eligibility Criteria for UP Special TET Exam 2026

For Paper I (Primary Level – Classes 1 to 5)

• Senior Secondary (12th) with at least 50% marks and a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education, or
• Senior Secondary with at least 45% marks and a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (as per NCTE norms), or
• Graduation with a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education, or
• Graduation with at least 50% marks and a B.Ed degree.

For Paper II (Upper Primary Level – Classes 6 to 8)

• Graduation with at least 50% marks and a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education, or
• Graduation with at least 50% marks and a B.Ed degree, or
• Senior Secondary with at least 50% marks and a 4-year Bachelor in Elementary Education (B.El.Ed), or
• Graduation with at least 50% marks and a 1-year B.Ed (Special Education)

UP Special TET 2026 OTR is Mandatory

Candidates are required to complete One Time Registration (OTR) before proceeding with the UP Special TET application. The OTR number is required to access the application process through the UPPSC system. Candidates who have already completed their OTR do not need to register again. They can log in using their existing OTR credentials and proceed with the Special TET application.

• Mode – Offline (pen and paper), OMR-based

• Number of questions – 150 per paper
• Duration – 2.5 hours per paper
• Negative marking – No negative marking
• Qualifying marks – Generally 60% for the General category (with relaxation for reserved categories)
