Eligibility Criteria for UP Special TET Exam 2026
For Paper I (Primary Level – Classes 1 to 5)
- Senior Secondary (12th) with at least 50% marks and a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education, or
- Senior Secondary with at least 45% marks and a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (as per NCTE norms), or
- Graduation with a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education, or
- Graduation with at least 50% marks and a B.Ed degree.
For Paper II (Upper Primary Level – Classes 6 to 8)
- Graduation with at least 50% marks and a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education, or
- Graduation with at least 50% marks and a B.Ed degree, or
- Senior Secondary with at least 50% marks and a 4-year Bachelor in Elementary Education (B.El.Ed), or
- Graduation with at least 50% marks and a 1-year B.Ed (Special Education)
What is the UP Special TET Exam Pattern 2026?
- Mode – Offline (pen and paper), OMR-based
- Type of questions – Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs)
- Number of questions – 150 per paper
- Duration – 2.5 hours per paper
- Negative marking – No negative marking
- Qualifying marks – Generally 60% for the General category (with relaxation for reserved categories)
