Eligibility Creteria for OPSC Veterinary Service Recruitment 2026

Educational Qualification

• Candidate must possess a Bachelor’s degree in Veterinary Science & Animal Husbandry
  (B.V.Sc. & A.H.) or its equivalent degree from any recognized University / College / Institution in India or abroad
• Must possess required conversion certificates recognized by the Veterinary Council of India (VCI). In case of a candidate having Degrees from Universities of Foreign Countries
• Possess a valid Registration Certificate under the Odisha Veterinary Practitioners
• Act, 1970 (Section 21).

Age Limit (As on 01/01/2026)

Candidate must have completed 21years and must not be above the age of 47 years. Candidates must have been born not earlier than 2nd January, 1979 and not later than 1st January, 2005.

• Minimum Age – 21 years
• Maximum Age – 47 years

OPSC Veterinary Assistant Surgeon Application Fee 2026

Candidates other than SC, ST, and PWD categories shall have to pay the examination fee of Rs. 700/- to complete the application form. The examination fees paid shall be refunded only to those candidates who actually appear in the Written Examination.

Odisha Veterinary Assistant Selection Process 2026

The selection of candidates for Veterinary Assistant Surgeon/ Additional Veterinary Assistant Surgeon posts is based on a written examination. Qualified candidates in the written exam will be called to appear for the certificate verification process.

Candidates appointed for Veterinary Assistant Surgeon/ Additional Veterinary Assistant Surgeon posts will be offered a monthly salary in the scale of pay of Rs. 56,100/- in Level 12, Cell -1 of Pay Matrix under Rule-3 of the ORSP Rules, 2017.
