OPSC PGT Recruitment 2024- Overview

OPSC PGT Recruitment 2024 has been initiated for 1375 Post Graduate Teacher vacancies in Group B for 50 Government Higher Secondary Schools and 106 Upgraded Higher Secondary Schools of Odisha for the Department of School and Mass Education. The selected candidates will be appointed as temporary employees and the salary will be as per Pay Level 10 under ORSP Rules 2017.

OPSC PGT Vacancy 2024 Eligibility Criteria

Candidates should ensure their eligibility for the post of Post Graduate Teacher as mentioned in the advertisement. If the applicant does not fulfill eligibility, the candidate’s application forms will not be accepted. Candidates eligibility parameters in forms of Education Qualification and Age limit is as follows:

OPSC PGT Educational Qualification

• Candidates must have completed a Master’s Degree in the Subject concerned from a recognized university with at least 50% marks in aggregate and have passed two years of graduate Master’s Course or integrated six years of graduate Master’s Course from a Regional College of Educational recognized by the NCERT in the concerned subject with minimum 50% marks in aggregate.
• Candidates have a B.Ed or equivalent degree recognized by the National Council for Teacher Education, New Delhi as equivalent to a B.Ed from a recognized University.  (For the post of PGT in subjects where B. Ed course is not offered, possession of B.Ed qualification is not mandatory).
• A degree or diploma in Computer Application is a desirable qualification, subject to the production of a certificate obtained from a recognized university or college.

OPSC PGT Age limit (as on 01/01/2023)

Candidates’ minimum age should be 21 years and the maximum age not be more than 38 years to apply online for OPSC PGT Recruitment 2024. Candidates must have been born not earlier than 02nd January 1985 and not later than 01st January 2002.

OPSC PGT Recruitment 2023 Selection Process

The selection of the candidates for  Post Graduate Teacher (PGT) posts will comprise the Written Examination and Personality Test & Interview. The written examination will consist of 03 papers namely, Paper 1, Paper 2, and Paper 3. The written examination will be held in objective type multiple choice questions. Qualified candidates in the written examination will be called to appear for the Personality Test & Interview.

OPSC PGT Exam Pattern 2024

• OPSC PGT Written examination will consist of 03 papers. Paper 1, Paper 2, Paper 3.
• Paper 1 includes the topics from General English and General Knowledge and Papers 2 and 3 will be held for optional subjects.
• Each Paper consists of 100 questions for 100 marks.
• There will be a negative marking, 1/4 marks will be deducted for each wrong answer.
