OPSC OCS 2026 Eligibility

Candidates are required to check the eligibility standards for Group A and Group B posts as mentioned in OPSC OCS Notification 2026. If candidates fail to complete the eligibility standard, their application forms and selection will be rejected.

Education Qualification

The candidates must have a Bachelor’s Degree in any discipline from any State or Nationally Recognised University or deemed to be a University under section 3 of UGC. The candidates must be able to read, write and speak the Odia language and have:

  • Passed Middle School Examination with Odia as a language or a subject;
  • Passed HSC or Equivalent with Odia as a medium of examination in a non-language subject;
  • Passed Odia as a language subject in the final examination of class 8th in school or an educational institute

Age Limit (as on 1/01/2025)

The candidate should fall within the age limit of 21 years to 38 years as on 1/01/2025, i.e. he/she must not have been born earlier than 2nd January, 1983 and not later than 1st January, 2004. The upper age relaxation for the reserved category will be provided as per government rules.

OPSC OCS Online Form 2026

The OPSC OCS 2026 application process for the Odisha Public Service Commission (OPSC) will start from 20th January 2026 onwards at https://www.opsc.gov.in/ as mentioned in OPSC OCS Notification 2026. OPSC OCS 2026 Selection Process

The selection process for the Odisha Civil Service Examination 2026 for various Group A and Group B posts includes the preliminary examination, main examination, and personality test/interview. The preliminary examination will be a screening test, and marks obtained in the preliminary examination will not be required for the final merit list. Candidates who clear the OPSC OCS Preliminary examination will be shortlisted for the main examination. The final merit of the candidates will be based on the candidate’s total score/ performance in the Mains examination and interview exam.

Number of Attempts

Every candidate appearing at the Civil Services Examination, who is otherwise eligible, shall be permitted 06 (six) attempts at the examination:

Provided that

(i) There shall be no such limit for the S.C. and S.T. candidates.

(ii) The number of attempts permissible to candidates belonging to Socially & Educationally Backwards Classes, who are otherwise eligible, shall be 09 (nine). This relaxation will be available to the candidates who are eligible to avail a reservation applicable to such candidates.

  • The Preliminary Examination will consist of 02 papers of objective-type multiple-choice questions.
  • Each paper consists of 200 marks.
  • The exam will be divided into 2 papers (Paper 1 & Paper 2) of 2 hours each.
  • Paper 2 is qualifying in nature and candidates are required to score above 33% to qualify for the main exam.
  • There will be a negative marking of 0.33 marks for each incorrect answer.

OPSC OCS Salary 2026

All the provisionally selected appointed candidates will be offered an attractive monthly salary along with a large amount of allowance and perks. The candidates who will be selected for the Group A post will be paid Rs. 56,100/-, and the salary for Group B posts will be paid 44,900 in Pay Level 12 Cell-1 in the Pay Matrix under Rules-3 of ORSP Rules, 2027.
