Odisha Public Service Commission (OPSC) has announced a total of 465 vacancies for various Group A and B posts under Odisha Civil Services Examination 2025. As the application process is over, the officials will now conduct the first stage of the selection process, i.e., a Preliminary Examination for which the OPSC OCS Exam Date 2026 has been announced. The prelims exam is scheduled to be conducted on 7th June 2026 (Sunday).

OPSC OCS Notification 2026- Highlights

OPSC OCS Exam Date 2026 Out

The Odisha Public Service Commission is going to conduct the first stage of the selection process, i.e., a preliminary examination for all the eligible candidates who have applied for the 465 Group A and Group B vacancies. The OPSC OCS Exam Date 2026 for the prelims exam has been announced by the OPSC. The prelims exam is scheduled to be conducted on 7th June 2026 (Sunday). All the exam-related details like exam time, reporting time, exam venue and more will be released along with the admit cards.

OPSC OCS Vacancy 2026

OPSC has released a total of 465 vacancies under OPSC OCS Exam 2026 for various Group A and B posts, including Odisha Police Service (Junior Branch), Odisha Co-operative Service, Odisha Skill Development & Employment Service, Odisha Labour Service, Odisha Excise Service, and Odisha Tourism Service. OPSC OCS 2026 Eligibility

Candidates are required to check the eligibility standards for Group A and Group B posts as mentioned in the OPSC OCS Notification 2026. If candidates fail to complete the eligibility standard, their application forms and selection will be rejected.

Education Qualification

The candidates must have a Bachelor’s Degree in any discipline from any State or Nationally Recognised University or deemed to be a University under section 3 of UGC. The candidates must be able to read, write and speak the Odia language and have:

• Passed Middle School Examination with Odia as a language or a subject;
• Passed HSC or Equivalent with Odia as a medium of examination in a non-language subject;
• Passed Odia as a language subject in the final examination of class 8th in school or an educational institute

Age Limit (as on 1/01/2025)

The candidate should fall within the age limit of 21 years to 38 years as on 1/01/2025, i.e. he/she must not have been born earlier than 2nd January, 1983 and not later than 1st January, 2004. The upper age relaxation for the reserved category will be provided as per government rules.

OPSC OCS 2026 Application Fee

The candidates are required to pay Rs. 500/- as an examination fee to complete the OPSC OCS 2026 application forms. An application fee is paid in online mode through net banking, debit card, credit card, UPI etc.

Steps to Apply Online for OPSC OCS 2026

Candidates can apply online for OPSC OCS 2026 from the official portal of the Odisha Public Service Commission (OPSC). Candidates can follow the steps shared below to apply online for the OPSC OCS Examination 2026 only before the last date.

1. Go to the official website of the Odisha Public Service Commission (OPSC) at https://www.opsc.gov.in/.
2.  On the  ‘Apply Online’  link that appears on the homepage.
3. First candidates are required to register themselves by providing a valid Email ID and Mobile Number for registration and creating login credentials.
4. Log in with these login credentials and fill out their complete information by clicking on the Profile Creation Link.
5. Upload their images of recent photographs, signatures, and left thumb impressions as per the prescribed format.
6. Candidates must ensure the information and details in the application forms are correct before clicking on the final submission button.
7. Save and download OPSC OCS Application forms for future reference.

OPSC OCS 2026 Selection Process

The selection process for the Odisha Civil Service Examination 2026 for various Group A and Group B posts includes the preliminary examination, main examination, and personality test/interview.

Stage 1 – Preliminary Examination – The preliminary examination will be a screening test, and marks obtained in the preliminary examination will not be required for the final merit list.

Stage 2 – Mains Examination – Candidates who clear the OPSC OCS Preliminary examination will be shortlisted for the main examination.

Stage 3 – Personality Test/ Interview – Qualified candidates in the mains exam will be called to appear for the interview.

Stage 4 – Final Merit List – The final merit of the candidates will be based on the candidate’s total score/ performance in the Mains examination and interview exam.

Number of Attempts

Every candidate appearing at the Civil Services Examination, who is otherwise eligible, shall be permitted 06 (six) attempts at the examination:

Provided that

(i) There shall be no such limit for the S.C. and S.T. candidates.

(ii) The number of attempts permissible to candidates belonging to Socially & Educationally Backwards Classes, who are otherwise eligible, shall be 09 (nine). This relaxation will be available to the candidates who are eligible to avail a reservation applicable to such candidates.

OPSC OCS Prelims Exam Pattern 2026

• The Preliminary Examination will consist of 02 papers of objective-type multiple-choice questions.
• Each paper consists of 200 marks.
• The exam will be divided into 2 papers (Paper 1 & Paper 2) of 2 hours each.
• Paper 2 is qualifying in nature and candidates are required to score above 33% to qualify for the main exam.
• There will be a negative marking of 0.33 marks for each incorrect answer.

OPSC OCS Salary 2026

All the provisionally selected appointed candidates will be offered an attractive monthly salary along with a large amount of allowance and perks. The candidates who will be selected for the Group A post will be paid Rs. 56,100/-, and the salary for Group B posts will be paid 44,900 in Pay Level 12 Cell-1 in the Pay Matrix under Rules-3 of ORSP Rules, 2027.
