KSP Civil Police Constable Eligibility Criteria 2026

Candidates must be Indian citizens and should meet the required educational qualifications and age limit as specified in the notification. They must also fulfill the physical and medical standards to be eligible for the recruitment.

• Educational Qualification: Must have passed PUC (Class 12 / Higher Secondary) or an equivalent qualification recognized by the Karnataka Pre-University Education Board.
• Kannada Language: Candidates who studied Kannada as a 1st or 2nd language in SSLC or higher, or studied in Kannada medium, are exempt from the compulsory Kannada exam. Others must pass a 150-mark Kannada language paper by securing a minimum of 50 marks
• Age Limit: Minimum Age: 18 years

Written Exam

• The written test will be conducted on 2nd August 2026 from 2:30 PM to 4:00 PM (Notification 1) and 10:30 AM to 12:00 PM (Notification 2).
• Minimum qualifying marks: 30 out of 100 (mandatory).
• Negative marking: 0.25 marks will be deducted for each wrong answer.
• Mandatory Kannada Language Test for candidates who have not passed Kannada as a subject.

Only the candidates who qualify in the PST will be called for the PET.

KSP Constable Salary 2026

The Karnataka Police Constable (Civil) salary pay scale is Rs. 37,500 – Rs. 76,100/- per month. Candidates will also be eligible for other Government of Karnataka allowances and benefits, including the National Pension Scheme (NPS).

• Training: Selected candidates will undergo 9 months of basic foundation police training at designated Police Training Schools. Candidates failing during training will be removed from service.
• Probation Period: Direct recruits will be on probation for 2 years and 6 months after appointment.
