Eligibility Criteria for IOB Bank Security Guard Recruitment 2026

Educational Qualification

• Candidates must have passed 10th standard or its equivalent examination, but the candidate should not have passed the graduation examination or its equivalent
• The candidate should be able to speak, read, and write in the Tamil language

Age Limit (As on 01/08/2026)

Candidates’ minimum age should not be less than 21 years, and the maximum age should not be more than 45 years

Indian Overseas Bank Security Guard Selection Process 2026

To be appointed for the IOB Security Guard post, candidates have to undergo the following selection stages.

• Objective Type Online Test
• Local Language Test (Tamil)
• Physical Fitness Test

IOB Bank Security Guard Exam Pattern 2026

Indian Overseas Bank Security Guard exam will be conducted for a total of 80 marks.

IOB Bank Security Guard Local Language Test (Tamil)

The IOB Bank Security Guard  Local Language Test (Tamil) shall be conducted separately for a maximum of 20 marks.

IOB Bank Security Guard Physical Fitness Test

Candidates who qualify in the Online Test and Local Language Test will be eligible to appear for the Physical Fitness Test. The exam will be conducted for a total of 100 marks. Candidates must qualify in each of the four physical tests. Only one attempt is permitted for each test.

• Push-Ups – 30 or more = 30 marks; 21–29 = 25 marks; 15–20 = 20 marks; 14 or below = Fail
• Sit-Ups – 30 or more = 30 marks; 21–29 = 25 marks; 15–20 = 20 marks; 14 or below = Fail
• 1 km Run – Under 4 minutes = 30 marks; 4–5 minutes = 20 marks; 5–6 minutes = 10 marks; above 6 minutes = Fail

IOB Bank Security Guard Salary 2026

The selected candidate will have to complete a Probation period of six months of active
service from the date of his joining the Bank. After completing the probation period, candidates will be paid the pay scale per the 12th Bipartite Settlement of Rs. 19500-665/4-22160-830/5-26310-990/4-30270-1170/3-33780-1345/3-37815.
