Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL), a Government of India Enterprise under the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas, has released the detailed notification for engagement of Graduate Apprentice Trainees (Engineering) for the year 2026-27 under its Marketing Division. HPCL has announced 358 vacancies for Graduate Apprentice Trainee (Engineering) posts under its Marketing Division, for which a detailed notification has been released on the official HPCL apprentice portal.

HPCL has invited eligible engineering graduates for 358 training slots spread across Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, and Instrumentation streams at locations spanning almost every state in India.

HPCL has notified the complete schedule for the online application process through the detailed notification. Candidates willing to apply for the 358 available training slots can submit their applications from 15th to 31st July 2026.

HPCL Graduate Trainee Apprentice Vacancy 2026

HPCL has released a total of 358 training slots for Graduate Apprentice Trainee (Engineering) across states, spanning its Marketing Division locations including terminals, depots, LPG bottling plants, pipeline installations, and zonal/regional offices. Maharashtra carries the highest allocation with 64 slots, followed by Uttar Pradesh (37) and Gujarat (32).

The eligibility in terms of education qualification and age limit is discussed below.

Education Qualification – The candidates must have completed an Engineering Graduation in Civil/Mechanical/Electrical/Instrumentation with 60% aggregate marks (all semesters/years) for UR/OBC-NC candidates and 50% aggregate marks for SC/ST/PwBD (VH/HH/OH/MD) candidates.

Age Limit (as on 31/07/2026)- Candidates must fall in the age group of 18 to 25 years.

HPCL Graduate Apprentice Selection Process

The selection process for the Graduate Apprentice Trainee posts is entirely merit-based, with no written examination.

• Screening of applications based on merit percentage in the qualifying engineering degree
• Document Verification (candidates called in a ratio of 1:5 with respect to notified/available training slots)
• Preparation of Final Merit List based on eligibility and verification outcome
• Engagement on acceptance of a tri-partite apprenticeship contract on the NATS portal, submission of medical certificate, and police verification
