BSSC SSO BSO Selection Process 2026
The selection process for BSSC Block / Sub-Statistical Officer (SSO BSO) follows a systematic process set by the Bihar Staff Selection Commission (BSSC).
- Written Examination Marks (75 Marks) – The Preference will be based on the marks obtained in the written exam.
- Work Experience (25 marks) – If you have work experience, you will get 5 marks for each year of work (maximum up to 25 marks). For candidates who work less than a year, the number of days worked is calculated to give marks
The total marks for the SSO BSO selection process are 100, with 75 marks for the written exam and 25 marks for work experience. The preference based on the exam marks will be calculated by multiplying the candidate’s percentage of marks by 0.75.
BSSC SSO BSO Exam Pattern 2026
There are certain conditions for which the BSSC SSO BSO Exam will be conducted, these are-
- The preliminary exam is objective (multiple-choice), and candidates will be called for the main exam based on a ratio of 5 times the number of vacancies available in each category.
Preliminary Exam: The preliminary exam will have one paper on General Knowledge include the following subjects-

Main Exam: The main exam will have two papers:
- Paper 1: Hindi (is a qualifying paper; candidates must score at least 30% for the evaluation of Paper 2).
