Bihar Public Service Commission aims to fill a total of 28 vacancies for Motor Vehicle Inspectors in the Transport Department, for which the selection process is based on a written exam and an interview. As per the BPSC Motor Vehicle Inspector (MVI) Exam Date 2025 notice, which has been released by the BPSC on 23rd July 2025, the exam will be conducted in two shifts on 9th August 2025 (Saturday) and a single shift on 10th August 2025 (Sunday) at various exam centers in Patna district.

BPSC Motor Vehicle Inspector MVI Recruitment 2025

To be eligible for BPSC MVI Recruitment 2025 should have passed the 10th class or hold a Diploma, along with a valid driving license. The age limit for the candidates is between 18 to 40 years. Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) has released 28 vacancies for Motor Vehicle Inspector (MVI). Out of which 35% are reserved for women, which is 09. The category-wise vacancies are mentioned in the table below.

Bihar MVI Eligibility 2025

Candidates must fulfill the age and educational qualifications as set by the Bihar Public Service Commission. If you don’t, you will not be disqualified at any stage of the selection process.

Educational Qualification

• Candidates must have passed the 10th class (Matric) from a recognized board.
• Must have a 3-year Diploma in either:

1. Automobile Engineering, or
2. Mechanical Engineering (recognized by the Central or State Government)

• Must have a valid driving license for both geared motor vehicles and light motor vehicles.

Important Notes:

• A learner’s license will not be accepted.
• You must provide a certificate proving that your diploma college/institute is recognized by the Central or State Government.
• Diplomas in any subject other than Automobile or Mechanical Engineering are not valid for this post.

Candidates can follow these steps to apply for the Bihar MVI Recruitment 2025

One Time Registration (OTR)

• OTR is compulsory for applying online to any exam conducted by BPSC.
• You must register on the official website: https://bpsconline.bihar.gov.in.
• After clicking on the above link, click on the “New User Registration” button.
• This OTR will be valid for all future recruitments by BPSC.
• You must have a valid and active email ID and mobile number to complete OTR.
• The password created during OTR will be used whenever you apply for any BPSC exam.

Instructions for DigiLocker Account:

• After completing the One Time Registration (OTR) process, the Meri Pehchan portal of DigiLocker will automatically open.
• If you already have a DigiLocker account, you must give consent to OAMS (Online Application Management System) and then sign in to your account.
• If you don’t have a DigiLocker account, you can click on New Sign Up to create one, give consent to OAMS, and then continue the application process.

Instructions for Profile Creation:

There are six steps to complete your profile. These are:

Step 1: Personal Information

• You need to enter important details such as:
• Your category (UR, EWS, BC, EBC, SC, ST)

Step 2: Address Information

• Enter your permanent address, including your street address, state, district, and PIN code.

Step 4: Qualification Information

• Enter your educational details starting from at least Class 10 and 12 onwards.

Step 4: Educational Qualification Details

Candidates must enter details like:

• Board/University name
• Status of qualification (Completed or Appearing)
• Date of passing
• Marks obtained and total marks
• Percentage (as per the university)
• Duration of course (in months)
• Grade/Class
• Mode of study (Regular or Distance)
• Compulsory and optional subjects
• Roll/Seat number and year of passing

Step 5: Work Experience Details

• If you have relevant work experience, click Yes. If not, click No.

Step 6: Upload Photo, Signature & Lock Profile

• You need a webcam to click a live photo of yourself.
• Upload two signatures: one in English and one in Hindi.
• Signature image size must be less than 20 KB
• Dimensions: Width 150–220 px, Height 250–320 px

Instructions for New Application

• After profile creation, go to the New Application tab to see all ongoing/active advertisements.
• Click View, check eligibility, and click Submit & Pay Fees to proceed with payment.
• Once the application and payment are done, go to the My Account tab to print the application form for future reference.

Bihar Motor Vehicle Inspector Selection Process 2025

Bihar Public Service Commission has set the selection process in two stages

• Written Exam: The written exam consists of three papers, and candidates must qualify the exam to be called for the Interview.
• Interview: After clearing the written exam, candidates will be assessed on their overall personality, subject knowledge and suitability for working in the Transport Department.

BPSC MVI Exam Pattern 2025

• Papers I and III are compulsory for all candidates, while in Paper II, candidates must choose between Automobile or Mechanical Engineering.
• There will be no negative marking for wrong answers.

BPSC Motor Vehicle Inspector Salary 2025

Motor vehicle Inspector comes under Level 6 in the pay matrix as per the 7th Pay Commission guidelines. The basic salary is around Rs. 35000, and after adding all allowances, the in-hand salary becomes Rs. 49000 to Rs. 54200 per month.
