Bihar Librarian Recruitment 2025 Notification Soon for 6500 Vacancies

After the Cabinet’s approval of the Librarian Appointment Rules, Bihar Sarkar Shiksha Vibhag has released the Manual for Librarian posts on 18th June 2025 on its official website. In the manual, the details regarding the eligibility criteria for the Bihar Librarian Recruitment 2025 have been shared. Now, to apply for the recruitment, a candidate must be an Indian citizen and a resident of Bihar. Candidates who have completed a Bachelor’s degree in Library Science with a minimum of 45 % are eligible for the recruitment.  The other criteria for the recruitment have been explained in the article. Bihar Librarian Notification 2025

The last recruitment process for the Librarians in Bihar school was completed in 2010. But due to some reasons, the recruitment of librarians for a long time has not been possible. To start the new recruitment, the education department has made some rules for the Bihar Librarian Recruitment 2025. These rules have been sent to the finance department for final approval. BPSC Librarian Recruitment 2025 Summary

At present, there are 1696 librarians working in various schools, which is a small number. More librarians are required to fulfill the school’s requirements. The Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) is set to recruit librarians through BPSC Librarian Recruitment 2025 in high schools after 14 years. To improve libraries and help students, around 65000 librarian posts will be announced soon.

Bihar Librarian Eligibility Criteria 2025

The educational and age criteria for the Bihar Librarian Recruitment 2025 are mentioned below.

Educational Requirements

• Citizenship and Domicile: The candidate must be an Indian citizen and a resident of Bihar.
• Educational Qualification: Must have a Graduation degree with at least 45% marks and a Bachelor’s degree in Library Science from a recognized university.

1. 5% marks relaxation is given to SC, ST, EBC, BC, PwD, Women, and EWS candidates (only for Bihar residents).
2. Alim degree (Maulana Mazharul Haque University or Bihar Madarsa Board) and Shastri degree (Kameshwar Singh Darbhanga Sanskrit University) are accepted as equal to a bachelor’s degree.

• Eligibility Test: Must have passed the librarian eligibility test conducted by the Bihar School Examination Board.

Age Limit (1/8/2025)

• Minimum age: 21 years (as of August 1 of the recruitment year), and the Maximum age will be as per government rules.

1. 10 years of age relaxation is allowed in the first recruitment cycle after the new rules are applied.

BPSC Librarian Selection Process 2025

The selection process for the Librarian in Bihar consists of two stages:

• Written Examination: The exam consists of 100 marks with objective-type questions based on Library science and other Non-Technical Subjects.
• Interview: Candidates who qualify the written exam will be called for the interview.

The Final selection will be based on the scores obtained in the written exam and the interview. Candidates will get only five attempts to appear for the exam.

Bihar Librarian Salary 2025

The Librarian in Bihar will get the same pay scale as state high school teachers, with a starting salary is Rs. 44,900 per month as per the 7th pay commission guidelines.
