UPSSSC Havaldar Instructor Notification 2026 Out for 209 हवलदार प्रशिक्षक Posts

The Uttar Pradesh Subordinate Services Selection Commission (UPSSSC), headquartered in Lucknow, has formally announced recruitment for the post of Hawaldar Instructor under the Homeguard Headquarters, Uttar Pradesh. Through this recruitment, 209 vacant positions for Havaldar Instructor posts(both permanent and temporary) are announced to be filled. The online application window will be opened from 19th June 2026 onward and only eligible Indian citizens with PET 2025 scores can apply.

UP Havaldar Instructor Vacancy 2026

This year, 209 Havaldar Instructor (हवलदार प्रशिक्षक) are under the Homeguard Department, Uttar Pradesh, Lucknow, at Level-3 have been released. Additionally, 52 posts are reserved horizontally for Homeguard volunteers and unpaid officers under the 25% horizontal reservation for Ex-Servicemen as per applicable rules.

UPSSSC Havaldar Instructor Recruitment 2026 Eligibility

Educational Qualification

As per the UP Homeguards Service Rules, 1982 (Part 4, Rule 8), a candidate must hold:

• Intermediate (Class 12) or equivalent from any recognised Board or institution (for non-departmental civilian category / High School standard).

Preferential Qualification

Under Rule 9 of the same regulations, preference in direct recruitment will be given to candidates who have:

• Served in the Provincial Army for a minimum of two years, or
• Obtained the NCC ‘B’ Certificate, or
• Continuously served in a Home Guard organisation for a minimum of three years.

Age Limit (as of 01/01/2026)

Candidates must be between 18 and 40 years of age. Upper age relaxation is available for SC/ST/OBC as per the Government rules. Homeguard volunteers who have served for at least 3 years are eligible for an additional 2-year age relaxation.

• Male – 4.8 km run in 25 min
• Female – 2.4 km run in 14 min

UPSSSC Havaldar Instructor Selection Process 2026

The selection process for Havaldar Instructor posts includes the following stages:

1. Shortlisting for Main Exam: Based on normalised PET-2025 scores, up to 15 times the category-wise vacancies will be shortlisted.
2. Written (Main) Examination: 100-mark objective paper (as described above). A merit list is prepared based on written exam scores.
3. Physical Measurement Test (PMT): Qualifying nature; candidates must meet the height and chest standards specified.
4. Physical Efficiency Test (PET): Run of 4.8 km (men) / 2.4 km (women) within the stipulated time — qualifying only.
5. Document Verification: Final verification of all certificates and documents.

UPSSSC Havaldar Instructor Exam Pattern 2026

• The Main (Written) Examination consists of one paper with 100 objective-type questions, to be completed in 2 hours (120 minutes).
• Each question carries 1 mark.
• There is a negative marking of ¼ mark for every wrong answer.
