HP Home Guard Selection Process 2026

The selection of candidates for HP Home Guard Volunteer posts will be carried out through a multi-stage process as outlined below. Only candidates who clear all the stages will be considered for final engagement.

Stage 1 – Physical Standard Test (PST): Candidates will be required to meet the minimum height, weight, and chest (for male candidates) standards as prescribed in the official notification. Candidates failing to meet the physical standard will be disqualified at this stage itself.

Stage 2 – Physical Efficiency Test (PET): Candidates who clear PST will be called for the Physical Efficiency Test, which will include running, jumping, and other fitness-related tasks designed to assess overall physical endurance and agility suitable for home guard duties.

Stage 3 – Written Test: Candidates who qualify in the PST and PET will appear for a written examination. The test will assess general awareness, basic reasoning, and knowledge relevant to the nature of home guard duties.

Stage 4 – Marks Distribution: Additional marks/weightage will be awarded to candidates based on their educational qualifications, NCC certification, sports achievements, and any other relevant criteria as mentioned in the official notification.

Stage 5 – Basic Training: Finally, all selected candidates will undergo mandatory basic training before being formally enrolled as Home Guard Volunteers.

HP Home Guard Salary 2026

All selected Home Guard Volunteers, irrespective of their post category, will be paid a daily allowance as mentioned below. No additional benefits like PF, Gratuity, or Medical allowance are included, as these are contractual positions.
