The Border Security Force (BSF) has released the important dates for the BSF Head Constable RO RM  Recruitment 2025. As per the schedule, the online application process has started at www.rectt.bsf.gov.in. The last date to submit the online application is 23rd September 2025. Candidates are advised to complete the application process within the given time period.

BSF HC RO RM Vacancy 2025

BSF has announced a total of 1121 vacancies for the RO RM Recruitment 2025. These vacancies are divided between two posts: Radio Operator with 910 vacancies and Radio Mechanic with 211 vacancies. The category-wise vacancies are also shared in the table below.

BSF Head Constable Recruitment 2025 Eligibility

BSF Head Constable Application Fee 2025

Candidates belonging to the General, OBC, and EWS categories are required to pay an application fee of Rs. 100. However, candidates from the SC, ST, and PWD categories are exempted from paying any fee. To complete the BSF HC form must pay online using Debit/Credit/UPI and other required payment methods.

Steps to Apply for BSF RO RM Recruitment 2025

• Candidates must apply online only via the BSF recruitment portal: https://rectt.bsf.gov.in/.
• First-time users must register and create a One-Time Profile (OTR) with complete personal details.
• You must have a valid Email ID and Mobile Number for registration.
• Upload the following documents:

BSF Head Constable Selection Process 2025

The selection process for Radio Operator and Mechanic under BSF Head Constable Recruitment 2025 is as follows:

• First Phase: PET & PST

1. Only those male and female candidates who qualify for the race will be allowed to proceed to the Long Jump and subsequent events.
2. Ex-servicemen and BSF Departmental Candidates are exempted from PST, PET.

• Second Phase: Computer-Based Test
• Third Phase: Document Verification, Dictation/Reading Test (for RO), and Medical Exam

For HC (RO): The final result will be based on the total marks obtained in the Computer-Based Test (CBT) (200 marks) and the Dictation Test (50 marks), making a total of 250 marks. Also, candidates must qualify the Paragraph Reading Test to be considered in the merit list.

For HC (RM): The final result will be based only on the total marks obtained in the CBT out of 200 marks.

If a candidate is selected for both posts [RO and RM] his/her documentation, PST, PET and Detailed Medical Examination will be conducted only once but the result will be placed in the dossiers for both posts.

Reservation

• 10% for Ex-Servicemen
• 5% for Compassionate Appointment category
• 25% for willing and eligible BSF Constables (GD & Tradesmen)
• If reserved quota remains vacant (due to ineligibility or no applicants), those vacancies will revert to Direct Candidates within the same category.

Resolution of Tie Cases

If two or more candidates get the same total marks, the tie will be resolved using the following steps, one by one, until the tie is broken:

• Higher total marks: The Candidate with more overall marks will be ranked higher.
• Older age: If marks are the same, the candidate who is older in age will be given preference.
• Alphabetical order: If age is also the same, the candidate whose first name comes earlier alphabetically will be ranked higher.
• PCM marks in 12th: If the tie still exists, the one with higher marks in Physics, Chemistry, and Maths in Class 12 will be preferred.
• Maths & Science (Matric + ITI): For candidates with Matric + ITI, the one with higher marks in Maths and Science will be given preference.
• Reserved category in UR list: If a reserved category candidate qualifies without using any relaxation, they will be placed in the UR (Unreserved) category merit list.

BSF HC RO RM Exam Pattern 2025

There will be 100 questions asked from Physics, Maths, Chemistry, English, and GK.

• The level of questions will be of 10+2 standard.
• Each question carries 2 marks
• 0.25 marks will be deducted for every incorrect attempt

Candidates applying for the HC (RO) post must appear for a Dictation Test, which carries 50 marks, and a Paragraph Reading Test, which is qualifying in nature.

Qualifying Marks

• General, OBC & EWS: Minimum 38% marks
• SC/ST: Minimum 33% marks
• Compassionate Appointment (CA) candidates: Minimum 20% marks
• Only 6 times the number of vacancies will be called for the 3rd phase.

BSF Head Constable RO RM Salary 2025

The salary for the post of Radio Operator and Mechanic comes under Pay Level 4, with a pay scale ranging from Rs. 25,500 to Rs. 81,100. In addition to the basic pay, selected candidates will also get extra perks and allowances as per the 7th Pay Commission. These posts fall under Group ‘C’ and are initially offered on a temporary basis, but they are expected to become permanent over time.
