UPSI Exam Analysis 2026 (14 & 15 March), Shift 1 and 2 Paper & Difficulty Level

Uttar Pradesh Police Recruitment and Promotion Board (UPPRPB) successfully held both shifts of the UP SI Exam on 14th and 15th March 2026, with approximately 10 lakh candidates participating. As the UPSI Exam is now over, this article provides an analysis of the UPSI Paper from 15th March. Candidates should review the subject-wise difficulty levels and good attempt to know how much the expected cut-off could reach this time.

As per the review of the candidates who appeared in the 1st and 2nd shift of 15th March 2026, the exam was of Easy to Moderate. The questions from Numerical & Mental Ability were calculative and time-consuming. 

UPSI Paper 2026 Exam Analysis

As the board has strictly notified that UP SI paper or any questions asked in UP SI Exam 2026 are not to be shared, so have shared just the good attempts and difficulty level of the exam along with feedback of the candidates. Candidates must score a minimum of 35% in each individual section and a minimum of 50% in total to qualify for the next round. The duration of the exam was 2 hours with 5 minutes of additional time.

UP SI Exam Analysis 15 March 2026 Difficulty Level

The difficulty level of UPSI Paper of 15th March (shift 1 and shift 2) has been discussed here after connecting with the candidates who had exams in this shift. In the first shift, the questions from General Hindi and Mental Aptitude / IQ / Reasoning were of an easy level while questions from Numerical & Mental Ability were moderate and General Knowledge / Law & Constitution were of an easy to moderate.

UPSI Exam Analysis 2026 Sectional Review

The examination aimed to fill 4,543 Sub-Inspector vacancies across various posts, including SI/Daroga-Confidential, ASI Clerk, and ASI Accounts. The sections of UP Police SI exam displayed a consistent pattern:

1. General Hindi: Mostly scoring-friendly, focusing on pronouns, passive voice, synonyms, and comprehension.
2. Reasoning/Mental Ability: Required logical thinking, with frequent questions on syllogisms, inequalities, coding-decoding, blood relations, Venn diagrams, and picture-based reasoning.
3. Quantitative Aptitude: Relatively easy across shifts, with emphasis on number series, LCM/HCF, AP & GP, percentages, averages, mensuration, and data interpretation.
4. General Awareness / Law & Constitution: Moderately difficult; frequent topics included constitutional amendments, IPC acts, major legal cases, state administration, and current affairs.

Overall, the difficulty level of the exam held on 14th March 2026 in both shifts was Easy to Moderate; however, candidates shared that the questions of the General Hindi section were quite easy as compared to other subjects.

As per the UP Police SI Exam Analysis conducted and the difficulty level of the exam, the good attempts could range between 124-135 for 1st shift and 122-132 for shift 2. However, this is not the official cut off marks.

UPSI 2026 Paper Structure
