UKSSSC Drive Vacancy Selection Process

The selection is conducted in two stages, and the final merit list combines the scores of both.

Stage 1 — Written Examination (25 marks, 30 minutes): An objective-type test on Driving Rules and General Knowledge. General/OBC candidates must secure at least 45% marks, while SC/ST candidates must secure at least 35% marks to qualify. Those who do not meet the cutoff will not be called for the driving test.

Stage 2 — Practical Driving Test (75 marks): Candidates who clear the written exam — up to 6 times the number of vacancies — are called for the driving test. The minimum qualifying marks here are 50% for unreserved, EWS, and OBC candidates, and for SC/ST and economically weaker categories.

Final Merit: The final ranking is based on the combined total of both stages. In case of a tie, the candidate with a higher written exam score is ranked first. If the tie persists, the older candidate is placed higher. All shortlisted candidates must appear for document verification; absence will result in cancellation of candidature.

UKSSSC Driver Exam Pattern & Syllabus

The written exam is an objective (MCQ) type with negative marking. One-fourth (¼) of the question’s marks are deducted for each wrong answer. Unanswered questions carry no penalty. Attempting more than one option for a single question is treated as a wrong answer.
