TNSET Notification 2024- Overview

The Tamil Nadu State Eligibility Test (SET) is a state-level exam held every year to assess a candidate’s eligibility for Assistant Professor posts in Universities / Colleges of Tamil Nadu. TN SET exam is held for a total of 45 subjects and the exam will be divided into Paper 1 and Paper 2. TNSET Exam 2024 Out

The Tamil Nadu State Eligibility Test (SET) for  Assistant Professors posts is going to be held from 3rd June to 25th June 2024 at various exam centers across Tamil Nadu state. The exam will be held in two shifts. First shift from 09.00 am to 12.00 pm and second shift from 02.00 pm to 05.00 pm. TNSET Application Fees 2024

Candidates need to pay the application fee online through net banking/ debit card/ credit card/ UPI. The Application fee will not be accepted offline. TN SET Application Fees 2024 is Rs 2500 for the general category, for other categories the application fees vary. Check your application fee according to the category given below.

Steps to Apply for TN SET 2024

Candidates can apply for Tamil Nadu SET 2024 only through online mode, no other mode of application will be accepted by the authority. Follow the steps given below to apply easily.

2. Search for the online Registration link on the homepage. Fill in the registration details such as your email ID and mobile number.
3. Submit the Registration details, and note down the user ID and password after successfully registering in the portal.
4. Fill in the online application form – your details, educational details, and professional details (if any), as asked for in the form.
5. Upload scanned documents as required in the online application process.
6. Pay the examination fees using a debit card, credit card/ Net Banking/ UPI, and keep proof of the fee paid. Pay as per your category.
7. recheck to submit the details and save the information for further reference.

TN SET 2024 Eligibility Criteria

Candidates should carefully go through the TN SET Notification 2024 PDF to ensure their eligibility for the TN SET Exam 2024. Candidates not fulfilling the required eligibility parameters for their application forms and selection will be rejected. Here we have discussed the detailed eligibility criteria in terms of educational qualified age limit as follows.

TNSET Educational Qualification

• Candidates must have completed their Master’s Degree or equivalent examination from universities/institutions recognized by UGC with at least 55% marks for general category and 50% marks for Scheduled Caste (SC) / SC(A), Scheduled Tribe (ST), Persons with Disability (PwD), or Third gender category.
• Ph.D. degree holders who have completed their Master’s level examination by 19 September 1991, irrespective of the date of the result declaration, will be eligible for a relaxation of 5% in aggregate marks for appearing in TNSET. This means that the minimum required marks for eligibility will be reduced from 55% to 50%.
• Candidates who appeared for their qualifying Master’s degree (final year) examination and whose result is still awaited or candidates whose qualifying examinations have been delayed may also apply for this test.

TN SET Age Limit

As per the official TN SET Notification 2024, there is no upper age limit in applying online for TNSET 2024. Candidates can freely apply for the TN SET Exam 2024 meeting all the required education qualifications.

TNSET Exam Pattern 2024

• The test will consist of two papers, Paper I and Paper II. Paper I will be common to all the candidates, while Paper II will be based on the PG subject chosen by the candidates (as given in the TNSET list of subjects).
• Both the papers are only of objective type and multiple choice questions (MCQ) in Computer Based Test (CBT) mode.
• The time duration for the exam will be 03 hours. There will be no break between the papers.
• The medium of the Question Paper shall be in English only except for Paper II of language subjects (Tamil, Arabic, Hindi, Malayalam, Sanskrit, Telugu, and Urdu).
• There is no negative mark for incorrect answers.
