Educational Qualifications

• For the position of PGT in the subjects of Botany, Chemistry, Economics, English, Geography, Hindi, History, Mathematics, Physics, Political Science, Sanskrit, and Zoology, a B.Ed. degree is a prerequisite.
• A master’s degree in the relevant field from a recognized institution or an integrated six-year postgraduate master’s degree from a regional college of education approved by NCERT, with at least 50% of the marks in aggregate or an equivalent grade.
• The candidate needs to have graduated from a recognized institution or university with a B.Ed. or a degree recognized by the National Council for Teacher Education, New Delhi, as being equal to a B. Ed.
• For the position of PGT in Commerce, Education, Geology, Home Science, Logic & Philosophy, Psychology, Sociology, IRPM, Telugu & Urdu, a B. Ed. degree is not a requirement for eligibility.

Age Limit (As on 01/01/2024)

Any candidate who is more than 38 years of age as on 01/01/ 2024 or has been born before 2nd January 1986 is not able to apply for the post-graduate teacher posts. The minimum and the maximum age limit for SSB Odisha posts are provided in the table below.

The selection of the candidates for the SSB Odisha PGT posts is done on the basis of the selection process which is prescribed by the authorities. The candidates who get hired for the posts will receive a monthly pay scale ranging from Rs. 44900/- to Rs. 142400/-. The salary of the post-graduate teachers is as per level 10 of the pay matrix.
