Punjab Subordinate Services Selection Board (PSSSB) will conduct a written examination to recruit 150 Veterinary Inspectors to the Animal Husbandry Department. As the notification has been released, candidates should shift their focus to building a well-structured preparation plan. A clear understanding of the exam pattern along with in-depth knowledge of the subject-wise syllabus will help candidates to write the exam with confidence and improve their selection chances.

PSSSB Veterinary Inspector Syllabus and Exam Pattern 2026

Candidates must understand the syllabus of the Veterinary Inspector exam to familiarise themselves with the topics that are going to be covered in the exam. The exam pattern will help candidates to understand the marks distribution, marking scheme, and sectional weightage. The standard of the Veterinary science portion of the syllabus is based on diploma-level veterinary science and practical field knowledge. Candidates will get 2.5 hours to cover a 150-mark offline exam. A portion of the syllabus focuses on Punjab-related knowledge.

Punjab Veterinary Inspector Selection Process 2026

PSSSB follows a structured selection process for the Veterinary Inspector recruitment. Candidates who are applying for the post have to go through a two-step process, which checks both subject knowledge and eligibility for the post. The written examination carries the highest weightage as it determines the final merit preparation. While document verification ensures that applicants are valid for the post. PSSSB Veterinary Inspector Exam Pattern 2026

The Punjab PSSSB Veterinary Inspector written exam will be conducted in pen and paper-based mode. The exam has two parts, Part A and Part B. The exam covers multiple subjects, including General Awareness or Knowledge, Languages, Subject-Specific, and Mental Aptitude.

• There are two parts in the exam.
• The offline exam has a total of 150 questions.
• Each question will carry 1 mark.
• In Part B, for every wrong answer, candidates will lose 0.25 marks.
• The maximum time allowed is 2 hours and 30 minutes.
• Candidates must secure 50% marks in Part A to qualify.

The syllabus of the PSSSB Veterinary Inspector exam assesses candidates across multiple sections. The Punjabi language section checks candidates’ vocabulary, grammar, and basic understanding of Punjab’s history and culture.
