The recruitment will be purely on a contractual basis until a permanent teacher is appointed for the post.

NVS Contractual Recruitment 2026 Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible to apply for the recruitment drive, candidates have to fulfill the required eligibility criteria in terms of educational qualification and age limit as specified by the officials.

Educational Qualification

The post-wise educational qualification has been listed below.

TGT Graduation in a relevant subject with a minimum 50% marks, B.Ed CTET qualification, ICT skills
Misc. Teachers Degree/Diploma in the concerned field Experience in co-curricular activities
Staff Nurse B.Sc. (Hons.) in Nursing, OR
Regular B.Sc Nursing, OR
Post Basic B.Sc Nursing from a recognized institute
Must be registered as an RN or RM with any State Nursing Council
Minimum 2.5 years of experience in a 50-bedded hospital after obtaining the degree, ensuring adequate practical exposure.

Age Limit (As on 01/04/2026)

The maximum age limit for the staff nurse posts is 50 years as on 1st April 2026. The age relaxation in the upper age limit for the reserved category candidates will also be provided as per the government norms.

Merit-Based Selection (Weightage System)

There is no written exam for contractual roles. NVS uses a point-based system to shortlist candidates for the interview (75% weightage to Academics, 25% to the Interview/Personal Interaction).

NVS Interview: What to Expect

The “Personal Interaction” is conducted offline at Nodal JNVs. Unlike a standard corporate interview, the NVS panel focuses on:

  • Teaching Demonstration: You may be asked to teach a concept on a blackboard for 5–10 minutes.
  • Residential Suitability: Situational questions may be asked, such as how you will handle a student feeling homesick at night.
  • ICT Skills: Questions may be asked to assess your ability to use Smart Boards and Google Classroom, which is an important criterion.
