Jharkhand Public Service Commission (JPSC) is responsible for conducting the Jharkhand Eligibility Test (JET) to determine the eligibility of candidates for the post of Assistant Professor and admission in Ph.D in Universities & Colleges across the state. As per official notice released by JPSC on 21st March 2026, the JET Exam Date 2026 has been postponed due to administration reason which was earlier scheduled for 29th March 2026. Jharkhand Public Service Commission (JPSC) has made announcement of regarding the postponement of JTET Exam through the official notice released on 21st March 2026. As per official notice JET Exam Date 2026 has been announced for 26th April 2026 (Sunday). The exam will be conducted at various exam centre in 6 city namely Ranchi, East Singhbhum (Jamshedpur), Dhanbad, Bokaro, Deoghar and Hazaribagh throughout the state.

Eligibility Criteria for Jharkhand Eligibility Test 2026
Candidates applying for the Jharkhand Eligibility Test 2026 must ensure that they fulfil the required eligibility in terms of their age and qualifications, to avoid disqualification of their applications. The Jharkhand Eligibility Test Eligibility overview is given below.
- General / EWS Category: Minimum 55% marks (without rounding off) in Master’s degree or equivalent from a UGC-recognized university.
- Reserved Categories (SC, ST, BC-I, BC-II, PwBD): At least 50% marks in Master’s degree. (Relaxation applicable only to permanent residents of Jharkhand).
- Final Year Students: Can apply provisionally if appearing or awaiting results. Must secure the required percentage within 2 years of result declaration.
- Ph.D. Holders: 5% relaxation if Master’s degree completed on or before 19th September 1991.
- Age Limit: The age of the candidates for the Jharkhand State Eligibility Test must be more than 21 years. There is no upper age limit for the examination.

While submitting the JET Application Form 2026, candidates have to pay the application fee as per their category. Exam fee will be collected through Payment Gateway through Credit Card/ Debit Card/ Net Banking/ Wallet/ Bharat QR/ UPI.

JPSC JET Exam Pattern 2026
The exam is designed to test teaching & research aptitude along with subject knowledge. The JPSC JET 2026 will be held in offline mode using OMR sheets, and candidates need to answer multiple-choice questions (MCQs). It consists of two compulsory papers that must be completed within a single 3-hour session without any breaks. Since there is no negative marking, candidates are encouraged to attempt all questions.
