GHC Civil Judge Eligibility Criteria 2026
Before applying for the recruitment, candidates must ensure that they meet all the required eligibility conditions, in terms of educational qualification, age limit, and language proficiency. Educational Qualification
- Candidates must possess a Bachelor’s degree in Law from a recognised university.
- Candidates must have proficiency in the Gujarati language in terms of reading, writing, and speaking. However, those candidates who have studied Gujarati in Secondary and Higher Secondary are not required to appear for the language proficiency test.
- Applicants should be practicing as an advocate in Civil and/or Criminal Courts.
- Candidates must also have passed the All India Bar Examination (AIBE).
- Candidates should have a valid certificate of basic knowledge in Computer Applications from a recognized institute.
Age Limit
The minimum age above which candidates are eligible to apply for the recruitment is 21 years. The maximum age allowed for candidates from the general category is 35 years. Candidates from reserved categories (SC, ST, EWS, PwBD, Ex-Servicemen) must be below the maximum age of 38 years. The upper age limit of employees working in the Court or allied departments is 40 years.

Gujarat Judiciary Civil Judge Prelims Exam Pattern 2026
The Preliminary exam is an elimination test that contains only objective-type questions. There are two papers in Stage 1. The Paper 1 is divided into three parts. Part A is for Criminal Laws, Part B is for Civil Laws, and Part C is for General Knowledge, English Language, Test of Reasoning, Numerical & Mental Ability, and Basics of Computer
Applications. Paper 2 is for the Test of Gujarati Language. The Prelims exam is qualifying in nature, so marks are not counted for the final merit.

- The exam will be conducted on an OMR sheet.
- The maximum marks of the Prelims are 100.
