1. Technician
   Candidates must have passed SSC/10th Standard or equivalent with Science subjects and minimum 55% marks + ITI certificate / National/State trade certificate (OR)
   2 years apprentice experience (OR)
   3 years relevant work experience in specified trades (e.g., Laboratory Assistant, Animal Handling, Nurse/ANM, Pharmacy, Food Production, Welder, Carpenter, Electronic Mechanic, Driver cum Mechanic, Computer Operator).
2. Technical Assistant
   Candidates must have completed B.Sc. in relevant subjects (Molecular Biology/ Biochemistry/Microbiology/ Biotechnology/Bioinformatics/Biomedical/Hospitality) with minimum 60% marks + 1 year experience (OR)
   Diploma in Electronics/Computer Science (3 years or 2 years lateral) with minimum 60% marks + 2 years experience.
3. Technical Officer
   Candidates must have passed M.Sc. in relevant fields (Biotechnology/Zoology/Life Sciences/ Bioinformatics/Agriculture/Botany/Hospitality) with a minimum 55% marks (OR)
   B.E./B.Tech in relevant engineering fields with a minimum 55% marks.

CSIR CCMB Vacancy 2026 Selection Process

The selection for the CSIR CCMB Technician and Technical Assistant and Officer posts is based on the written test. The written exam will be conducted in 2 stages.

Stage 1: Trade Test- The exam conducting body will conduct the (Paper I) trade test in the relevent subjects and a competitive written examination for the candidates to evaluate their suitability for the post.

Stage 2: Written Test- In the second stage, 2 written papers (Paper II & Paper III) will be conducted. It is evaluated only for those candidates who secure the minimum qualifying marks in paper 1. The final merit list will appear only on the basis of the marks obtained by the candidates in Paper II and Paper III.

CCMB Technician and Technical Assistant Exam Pattern 2026

Knowing the exam pattern of CCMB Technician and Technical Assistant is important for effective preparation. It gives clarity about the exam and exam pattern.

• Paper I is a trade test, which is qualifying in nature.
• Paper 2 consists of 50 questions for 150 marks, and one-third of a negative mark will be deducted for each wrong answer.
• Paper 3 consists of 100 questions from the concerned subject.

CSIR CCMB Recruitment 2026 Salary

Selected candidates will get the salary according to the 7th Pay Commission. The salary range is between Rs. 39,545 and Rs. 90,100. After final selection,, candidates can get the various allowances according to the post.
